Last year (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...re-oversand-beach-day-sept-13-15-2019.619847/) we had an amazing trip to Cape Cod and explored the National Seashore with half a dozen trucks. The Cape Cod National Seashore (map link:https://www.nps.gov/caco/planyourvisit/orv-map.htm ) is an amazing place and entirely unique in the northeast. It is open to any street legal truck and entirely passable to any stock Tacoma (Just air down!!). To get on the beach you must:

Pay for a permit, watch an educational video, have a min amount of equipment. Full-size Spare Tire (Nick!), tire pressure gauge, jack, shovel, traction board (a2x12 works) and 4x4. Full permit requirements: https://www.nps.gov/caco/planyourvisit/orv-permits.htm

Last year we camped at Adventure about N Turo, were 3 spots are still available in spots 260-264. We can fit several tents, trucks per spot. I am booking a site to arrive Friday and leave mid day Sunday. I can fit at least one other tent in site (2 kids and a dog included). Of course, feel free to stay wherever you like. There are plenty of hotels on the cape hurting for business this year.

Very cool. Unfortunately that weekend is already booked for me.

But I can confirm its a blast! Just make sure you have everything on the list of equipment, including a tire gauge that goes all the way down to 5 PSI I think it was. They will 'inspect' your truck and ask to see everything before they will issue a permit.
Looking at you Nick @Blais03 hahah

No ground tents? And are they currently barring RI residents from getting a pass.

Sure is. Looks like adventure bound still have 5+ tent sites available.

Where did you see no ground tents?

I see nothing on the park service site about residence restrictions. although they are now doing online permitting instead of at the Ranger station.

Thanks, the tent thing was more a question. I know most beaches require on-beach camping to be self contained so I was wondering if they are allowing grounds tents.

I will look into the pass, I've been meaning to get out to the Cape.

to camp on the actual beach you need a self contained RV with grey and black water tanks. We are staying at a private campground that has bathrooms and (coin operated) showers.

I go to that beach all the time by boat. Weather permitting, I will shoot across the bay to take a photo of all you Tacos on the beach. Watch out for the toothy ocean critters, they are all over that area.
