Y'all are getting deals? Must be nice. I'm lucky to find a dealer that'll sell for MSRP in California.

I disagree as do the others who have followed the template.

About half the people don’t post those basic things. Many just post out the door price. Some have used the template. But it doesn’t really matter because if ANY do it is better than none. If you’re going to tell someone how to post after they put the OTD Price then why not tell them how to do it right? If dealers add on $2000 worth of accessories that really are worth only $400 then that cuts into the discount on the vehicle. Many people are not even aware of this. The trade-in can be a HUGE part of the deal that 90% of the time is not mentioned. What you said before about needing to inspect the vehicle is not really true. For the most part dealers just go off Kelly blue book values. By listing what they got on the trade you can at least tell if they totally got hosed on the trade-in which would effectively negate most or all of the discount that was received. It all comes out in the wash as far as the dealer is concerned. There was someone about 20 pages back on this thread who got an seemingly amazing price on a truck. One of the biggest discounts on the whole thread but they got like $8000 less for the Tacoma that they traded in than it was worth. Even when someone gets Kelly blue book trade-in value As opposed to private party value when trading in they’re still leaving $1-2000 on the table. Dealerships purposely make it super confusing to determine if you’re getting a good deal which is why you really need to know all the info on the template in order to truly evaluate a deal. But yes, I agree, as you said before those basic other numbers Will get you a ballpark evaluation.

Im in southern Cali. Nothing new here, we get screwed with taxes and inflated tacos prices. Best plan is to wait for the 21's to arrive to have a shot at a deal here or even in another state close by.

Stopped by Dublin Toyota last month to look at Tundras and Tacomas... can vouch they are not budging a penny from MSRP. I checked a few days later and those trucks I had my eye on were sold. Definitely hard to get deals off MSRP in the current market for NorCal

I think that’s too much. I paid about 28850 for my sr5 4 cylinder 2wd otd. I mean taxes titles fees taxes all that garbarge. That was my final price. I was quoted about $2k more for a 4wd.

I saw someone posted that he paid MSRP... wow that sucks! I would never give the dealership any satisfaction on the deal. Their motto is to take as much as they can legally!

Didn't want to muddy up the forum with a new thread, so hopefully someone can let me know if its acceptable to post a "price check" style thread. Fairly limited inventory in my area, which has got be looking a few years back...
    2017 OR 6' 4D 36.5k for $30,599 has got me tempted when a local 2020 has a MSRP for $40k+.

That's actually a pretty good price, that would be a normal price prior to the COVID used / new madness. I'd offer them $30k and run, you could turn around and sell that to Carvana for $34k right now. Assuming 4wd?

4x4 yeah, may try to send a buddy who is local to them, and a Tacoma owner, down to scout it out for me.

Is this the best thread to learn what's a fair price? Every forums different so I don't want to annoy anyone, but obviously want to get the best price. Especially since I also recently added a mortgage payment, hahah.
