This is amazing! I'm so glad I stumbled across this. I am thinking of purchasing a TRD OR - but I really want to get the hood scoop and for some reason - I think I also want the color matched fenders vs. the matte black ones. Is that something you guys do as well? In addition, what about the black matte front bumper piece. Can you guys replace and color match? Ultimately to look like a Sport but have the OR mechanics. I'd actually like to trade matte black brand new front bumper and brand new over-wheel fenders for all color-matched ones (painted). I'm assuming they can go either way - meaning trade painted for matte or trade matte for painted. thank you!

Hi there! Yes, the OEM one is: $1,565.00 while CAPA is $1,225.

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer.
The Aftermarket is a third party supplier and not the original maker.
(CAPA is also considered aftermarket.)

Though look and functionality wise they're very similar, the main difference is that you're paying for the “name” and some of the material/thickness may differ. But at the end of the day, once it’s on your vehicle, you won’t notice any significant differences.

OEM will be $1,565.00 while CAPA is $1,225.

No problem!
We can get a hood from our local Toyota dealer here and then paint it if that's what you'd like.

 

If you use a mix of Toyota websites, eBay and Amazon you can probably scrounge up all the OEM parts for ~$600 shipped. Add $400 for a body shop to paint it and you’ve got yourself a sport hood.

if convenience is a priority I don’t think you can beat this

Of course!
I believe there is a post where people are actually trading hoods or buying them to replace their damaged ones. Or keep it in case anything happens with your new hood, you will have the original one to put back on.
