What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Don't do it ! We live in troubling times and that picture might get you in hot water.

But, in an effort at some levity, and to keep us on the mod path, I am pleased to report that I found a mod so simple that even I was able to accomplish it in less than 60 seconds!

You see, there was a hole in the opening on my OEM trailer hitch. I searched the Internet and found the Toyota OEM Receiver Tube Hitch Plug. Tow Hitch. Part Number:

PT22835960HP). You simply open the package and slide it in and voila ...

So easy, even I could do it.

 

I always suspected you were a little leaky.

I wouldn’t have been as angry about it if I didn’t color match the emblem and the TOYOTA to the body. I bought another, bot need to rig up some sort of anti-theft

Just scroll through your alerts in your dash cluster using your steering wheel controls. You can reset it in seconds. I’ve done it a handful of times. Will pop up again in 5k

 

Super quick mod. Maybe 10 minutes for all four doors and no need to remove the door panels. Just pull the panel where the controls are and guide the wire down.




Edit: little piece of advice. The slot you will want to use is the bottom center slot to run your wire. You will notice on the new piece vs the stock part is the embossed tab is gone meaning that’s the location you want to run the wire for a flush fit.

 

I like that setup. I didn't know they made truck campers for our size truck bed then I noticed your gas inlet is farther from the cab than mine. That figures. Nice anyways.

Put in the Taco Garage DMM. Highly recommend if you prefer low-profile setups!

 

Yeah, those things are easy to steal. Someone helped themselves to mine from my 2nd gen. So far. 3rd gen hole plug is still on the truck, but sometimes, I take it out and leave it in the truck depending on the mall I'm crawling.

 

Unique bed slide idea, where did you get those long bed sliders. Looking forward to the end result

 

Awesome looking in red. That's what I ordered too. Thanks for the install tip, I was thinking the whole door panel would need to come off, so much less work now!

 

I have the long bed with an older 2001 Northstar Camper. Some manufactures make one for the short bed, specifically the Four-wheeler company. Others have a 6' camper hang over the tailgate, like the Northstar company. They make these camper mounts that go on the outside called "fastguns" that make it easy to fill gas in case the bracket is in the way of the gas lid. Here are some options just to name a few...

Installed the TRD Pro grill

 

Done. Super simple. Use the left or right buttons to get to "Settings", select it, then scroll down to the last item which is "Reset Maintenance Message".

 

That’s it! I forget the technical locations but pretty easy to figure out and guide your way.

 

I have a hitch step in mine with a hitch lock. Been on over a year and it’s still there!

 

Can you please provide a video on how to do it. Sounds complicated.

 

To be fair, the hardest part is opening the package. Once you have that accomplished it gets easier !

I hope mine doesn't get stolen ... I mean really ... who steals something like that?
