Classic bt/Blanton’s on the front end. Alittle rough on the back end. Solid pour tho. For 32 bucks I will buy a bunch of bottles of it. I’m a fan!7AB5885C-7DBF-4F60-B468-F2AC76F7EA41.jpg

I've been really happy with my Buffalo Trace pick ups recently.

Have you tried the Single Barrel yet? Or just the Small Batch?

Just had a couple pours with a buddy. Weller SR, EH Taylor single barrel and rye, and Jameson 18 bow street. Pretty solid line up. Also picked up this guy today.

$179 is a bit steep. I'm assuming it is Chapter 4 since they just got it in? I can't say I've had that one, yet, but I'd be going up to maybe $120 or so to give it a try. It is a once-per-year release and they are all different. Rather than batch Jim Beam distillate the way Booker's does, Freddie Noe (son of current Master Distiller Fred Noe and grandson of the fabled Booker Noe) takes the keys to the entire Beam Suntory warehouse network and blends different stuff as he sees fit. Chapter 3 might have a bit of a Booker's taste, but Chapter 1 and ESPECIALLY Chapter 2 taste much different than Booker's does. Not arguing better or worse, but certainly different. Chapter 2 is a blend of straight rye, Canadian rye, and a 40 year old Canadian whisky. It's pretty wild.

Chapter 3 is a blend of (mostly) overaged Booker's, Basil Hayden, Knob Creek, and Baker's. All the same mashbill, those 4, but aged in different warehouses and/or locations within the warehouse, then, as I mentioned, mostly all aged longer than the bottlings you usually get from each. It's exquisite.

I'm not too well versed on Chapter 4, yet. @916carl , maybe time to bump our PM ;).

We stayed afloat! The backyard turned in to a pond. A couple more days and we'd have to invest in a kayak, but we're good now. Booker's helped me get through it ;).

My cup runneth over w/LB 4 (and apparently Laura is filling your cup as well, but not with the good stuff). I've got them on standby, whenever you would like to go. Just worried about heat, but UPS isn't as slow as USPS.

It's cooling off around here. At least within waxed cork tolerances ;).

    That Signet, though....

My cabinet is full and can't fit those boxes. I need expansion space but it wouldn't go over well with the other half. She already asked about my "alter of booze" when she saw this in my office. Just no room elsewhere. These are a tasting kit from a new distillery. Came with a little jar of smoked grains used to make their smoked rye, bourbon and whiskey line.

Preaching to the choir, there. Though, I will say, my wife is all on board with building a Booker's specific cabinet. She rather likes that spread of booze. Maybe she actually likes it, maybe she's humoring me, but a cabinet for just those would free up a LOT of space. There are 41 bottles of Booker's in there alone.

Gonna be in San Diego this weekend. Any places I should stop for a pour or to hunt some bottles?

Thanks for the info. I’ll have to check out that place again. They had more in a different spot, but couldn’t tell what chapter they were. Those were priced at 99, so still not a bad deal.I did start reading stuff on them last night and it definitely sparked my interest on wanting to try all of them.

I'd buy any of the chapters for $100. Chapter 2 is the most polarizing, so maybe try that one first? 3, especially, is great if you're a bourbon fan.
