So I have a 2020 OR. I also have an Iphone that I connect via charger to the truck. I usually like to put on music playlists off Youtube when I am driving but for some reason every time I try to adjust the volume settings through the car stereo, the video pauses as soon as I touch the volume dial and music saved on the phone starts playing. If I resume the video, the audio from it resumes through the speakers and I can adjust the radio and the video doesn't pause. If it goes past a few minutes and I try to adjust the volume again same issue happens. Just wondering if anybody has run into this and if it's an iphone issue or if it's due to the truck and if there's some setting I can change to get rid of this. just an FYI, I am not looking at my phone while I am driving, this is all done prior to me getting on the road.

Is it YouTube or YouTube music?

I know the volume adjustment is programmed to unpause whatever music source is selected. It may be that CarPlay does not recognize YouTube as a 'music source' since it is primarily for video, which is verboten while driving.

I don’t have a 2020 so not entirely sure. I just stream YouTube music via Bluetooth and it works flawlessly. Same for YouTube.
Seems like a CarPlay and YouTube interaction issue using the dial

Hijacking here. Did you ever have issues with YouTube music not displaying the music info on the entune audio screen? Once Google play music announced they were kaput and said you can move over to YT music I transferred everything over and now none of the song info will display and I'm losing my mind over it.

Yeah, for 4 1/2 years of streaming through my truck it’s never displayed. Never bothered me personally because I keep my phone close and visible to skip ads when needed. Everything else I use displays though, podcast and pandora when I use it but hardly use Pandora cause the sound quality is junk and not about those 2 minute ads.

also usually keep my home screen with 25/25% weather / audio and 50% maps

Just use regular Bluetooth or an Aux cord (unless the 2020's don't have that anymore). I have no issues with regular Bluetooth other than the slight delay, but that's not unique to Toyota.
