A good pooper

Okay here's an odd question...

Any of you guys carry a portable toilet with you when you head out to the backcountry? And what do you recommend?

Sure you can just dig a cathole. But some areas require you to pack waste back out, and it's a good thing to do, especially in sensitive environments. Yeah I hug trees.

So anyway, how about it?

I use this. I also used them in Iraq back in 2006 and they are wonderful. Nothing like taking a dump in the back of a high-back HMMWV with a loaded weapon and a helmet on.

Actually I have seen one that goes into the hitch of your truck but I can't remember where. It was pretty cool.

Not to thread jack but heres what comes to mind when i think of a good pooper.

In regards to the current topic, I poop in the woods. Animals do it, why shouldnt you?

 

I made a frame out of 2" square tubing and bolted a toilet seat to it. Then welded a hitch to the front of my rzr so when we would go riding all the girls would pee on it and I had a front row seat when they got up Never left the bed of my truck unless we were out riding

 

Because in some areas, it's becoming a huge problem. For one wildlife doesn't use TP, and even if you bury it, animals will dig it up ... which is why you should pack your TP back out in a ziplock.

But in other areas, like South Colony Lakes here in Colorado, the USFS is shutting roads down because there are piles of shit all over the place, and considering the preservatives in our modern diet, in high use areas, it doesn't easily break down.

I like the PETT systems, because they are cleaner. But they definitely are more expensive. But with a PETT system you can dispose of your waste in the regular trash, because the chemicals and dessicants you add (similar to what's in a diaper) render the matter inert. Believe it or not, it is illegal to toss a bag of untreated waste in the trash. A lot of people don't know that.

the bumperdumper is the shit haha i got a few peeps who rock those in the woods when they hunt. i'd never use one because my friends would drive off with my ass still on it lol

 

Jack a old milk crate. you know the square yellow plastic ones. cut an oval hole in the center. tape shape edges with duct tabe/gun tape/100mph tape. then make a seat out of what ever you see fit I've seen everything from sandbag with guntape overtop to old pillows cut up and taped one. cheap, light weight, easy to make, and best of all it works
