When i bought my 2012, it was 3-4K more for a new over a 5 year old with 60-70 K miles. I traded it on my 2016 for 3K less than i paid for it.

I’d like to trade in my 16 on T4R, but the wife would kill me.

 

I’m sure the 4Runner and Tundra will release a new generation in 2022

 

I even considered looking at 4 runners but they're just as expensive and last time I got one I really missed have the bed...

 

Besides a cv and some u-joints does your truck need any major repairs?

Are you looking for newer 2nd Gen or older 3rd Gen?

 

They were blocking the road but did not have the Sheriff out to help them. So I just drove around the little cones they put out and let them yell at me Fuck em

Rear differential leak
Drivers side Cv/axle
Brake fluid flush
Power steering fluid
Plus
Stereo dying
Headlights are super shitty
Paint gross
Need new floor mats
Step sides are crap
Seats getting blah..
But nothing more major than these that I'm aware of anyway.

 

As did mine. Although it's awfully useless. I never use it

 

If I got newer 2nd gen I'd want super low miles and those are rare gems

 

How much you want for your truck?

 

Get a 3rd Gen. They cost around $3-6k more than a lightly used 2nd Gen. Besides steering wheel and an ok front end, you’ll feel like a 12-15 Tacoma is the same as your current truck. I recall you have AC problems with your truck and the AC system did not change a single bit from 05-15. You can get dual climate control on the 3rd Gens too if they have the premium package. 16-17 the premium package did not come with leather seats but the 18-20 do so buying a premium new is around $45k compared to buying a premium new in 2017 at only $38-40k

 

Ya they don’t work if ya have a armored phone case

 

If address the mechanical stuff and drive till it stops, Cheaper to keeper.
I wouldn’t hesitate to drive mine cross country now.
