    I had a thought a little bit ago while considering this video. If I had big enough stones, I bet if I could hit that first hump fast enough, I could probably clear the top of the wall, straight up rock bouncer-style. I don't think my stones are that big though, haha.

    If done right, I think the the suspension would easily absorb the landing. If it's not done right is what I'd be worried about. Doing a face plant squarely into the wall would pretty much be a head-on collision with the ground and my air bags have been off-line since I attempted that mudhole on the corner of 15 and 20 while it had 40" of water in it so I doubt I'd survive the experience.

    Haha, you don't have to convince me. I think the OGT could do it, but it's beyond my skill level and the consequences of not getting it just right are too big a risk.

    Only if I screwed it up, which is highly likely, lol. If done right it would probably land pretty softly on the top.

    So...I discovered a most peculiar thing yesterday. After driving an hour and a half or so home Sunday, presumably on just my battery, occasionally having to use my windshield wipers because I got rained on hard several times and had to stop at a bunch of lights, I pulled in the driveway with the ScanGauge reading 11.5v. So yesterday I went out and put my multimeter on the battery to see how far it was down and discovered it to be completely charged at 12.5 volts. I still put the battery charger on it and after charging most of the day, the battery was still at 12.5 volts. So I started the truck. The battery light was still on and the Scan Gauge was reading 11.9v while the multimeter was reading about 12.1 at the battery while the truck was running. I was tempted, but I didn't disconnect the battery to see if the truck would stay running so I can't say for sure, but the only explanation I can come up with is that the alternator is actually working, though at a diminished capacity. It's very weird that the battery was fully charged though.

    I'm going to take the alternator out and clean it with electronics cleaner then have it tested (I don't want to play the take it out and put it back in several times until it works game). If It works I guess it'll go back in. If not, then I've got a new one on the way that I'll stick in the T4R if it turns out I don't need it. This is a 105 amp alternator out of a Suzuki Grand Vitara so it would be an upgrade for the T4R.

    I’ve had the same happen on my 02 tundra. Battery light on, scangauge reading low, but a new alternator fixed the problem. Same situation caused it too... mud/water

    No clue. Maybe it’s just the voltage sensor in the alternator that sends the reading to the computer went bad, while the alternator itself is still charging at full capacity.

    I noticed today that one of my rear bump stops is missing.... ripped right off the base

    I think the alternator is working, but not to full capacity. The meter should be in the high 13V range with it running, unless the battery had a bad cell, but since yours seems strong I don’t think that is the problem. I would clean it as good s you can and test it to see any changes, keep us updated on what you find.

    Exactly. Before Sunday, the Scan Gauge was reading between 13.9 and 14.2, depending on the loads. That was both with the adapted 105 amp Suzuki alternator and with the factory 60 amp.

    I'll definitely let you know what I figure out. If I manage to save it, I might put it in the T4R and throw the stock T4R alternator in the tool box on the truck for a trail spare. This is twice now my ride has been cut short by an malfunctioning alternator and they aren't that hard to change. I'm also going to revisit my splash guards. When I made them, I forgot to add 2" to the part that goes over the shock tower, so I'm thinking about putting a piece of thin guage metal in there to give the alternator better protection. Have to do the other side too. I actually have clay piled up on my passenger exhaust manifold.
