With this covid not going anywhere anytime soon the U.S. is going to continue on the downward spiral. Would not surprise me if Carvana goes belly up before it is all said and done.

    CARMAX HAS MY TACO NOW
I took my truck in to CarMax today just out of sheer curiosity and because carvana isn't in this market. 2020 TRD OR Premium DCLB with every option but MTM and 15k on the clock. CarMax came at me with $38,000. Was hoping for more but about what I expected. Didn't take it.

Another one to Carvana this month. 2014 double cab, 4.0, 2WD. I was asking 24,500 private party. Had a few tire kickers and nearly 50 DFW-area dealers call me trying to low ball. Finally tried Carvana, their offer was higher than I was asking. I’d never buy from them but the sale was easy.

I sure wish I was in selling mode about 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, it’s my DD. I could have gotten within about $2.5k of my OTD price for my 2018 OR with 36k miles. That’s about $75 per month over my ownership.

2019 Tacoma, SR5, 4-dr, short bed, all stock @ 11k miles........ located in Central Virginia

    Carvana offer: $33,450 :popcorn::popcorn:

Now I’m a truck guy, so if I sold to Carvana, I’d want to upgrade to the new year model

There is a shortage of Tacoma’s in our area and the ones left on dealer lots are all ...... high dollar

And don’t forget..... we all have to pay that damn “punishment tax”

At least my present truck is paid for!!!!

The new vehicle tax is the pain. You don't really want to be paying that every 2-3 years.

Carvana has 256 Tacomas for sale.
Really remarkable. (2016 and newer with under 50k mileage).

Evidently they want ALL of the Tacomas.

If they’re not careful, they’ll end up with ALL the Tacoma’s.... just waiting for buyers that are waiting for the price drop.

They offered me 35 for my 19 trd or with 20k miles. I might take the offer.

Here’s my experience with Carvana. I had a 2017 TRD Sport Double Cab 4wd, 6spd with 16k miles. I ultimately ended up using the Carvana offer to negotiate with my local dealer. They didn’t want to, but they matched Carvana’s offer and they brought in the new Tacoma TRD Pro in the color and options I wanted from another dealer.

    CarMax: $30,000
    Dealer #1: $31,150
    Carvana: $34,226
    Dealer #2: $34,226

Unless the dealer wrote you out a check, they didn't match Carvana's offer. Carvana give you cash. Dealer just rolled the "matching offer" into the price.

The thing is that the TRD Pro I was buying was not going to be discounted if I had a trade or not. If they were showing more on my trade and discounting their truck to make up the difference that would be correct. They matched Carvana which depending on how you look at it they either discounted the TRD Pro or put more in my truck. If I sold to Carvana or not the outcome would have been the same for me.

Trade in was better, most likely you don’t have to pay taxes on the trade value. That is unless you live in one of those crazy states.

Got a letter from my dealer today wanting me to trade my 2019 in for a 2020 and keep the same payment as I have now. I have under 6,000 miles on mine so I don't think I'll be doing that. Plus he don't know I traded it off then bought it back and added another $4,500 on to my loan.

There's more than enough dummies that only think in terms of a monthly payment.
