33s or 35s? Mine climbs much slower after 90 mph (on a closed course) with 33s and stock gears than yours did!

Looks like he’s on stock tires if the truck is the same as his avatar still. 2WD probably has a decent amount to do with it as well due to weight alone.

All stock, except I switched from oem sport 17's to oem limited 18's. My Tacoma is for daily driving, grocery getting and commuting. I have a different vehicle for towing and hauling. I have a different vehicle for off-roading. I have a different vehicle for racing. If you try to make one vehicle perform multiple tasks, your are going to have more compromises and end up unhappy. Years of experience has taught me this many times.

I put 110k miles on my 2002 first gen tundra in 3 years. Literally ran like the day I bought it the day I sold it. I liked it a lot. A LOT. It was a really good blend of size and power.

My tundra is a TRD OR CrewMax. it's a big ass truck that eats so much gas it's unbelievable. practically have raw fuel pouring out the tail pipe with the MPG it gets lol (city). it handles well honestly, but it's big bulky ...not city friendly / parking lot friendly.

On the highway the tundra gets comparable MPG to the tacoma...

except now with the twin turbos I am seeing 20+ mpg highway every time... in 4High @ 70 mph. This is just my preference but the tacoma drives and feels so much better just having 4H on all the time, except tight turns.

What's your opinion on adding turbos causing a shortened engine lifespan?

from my experience, as long as the tune is safe, and the engine isn't pushed past the hardware fatigue limits, it won't be any different than the turbos not being there.
You do more damage to your engine cold starting it with dirty oil than you do with turbos.

Adding turbos doesn't mean anything. Running 20psi also doesn't mean anything.
It's all about how much torque is being produced.
Heck you turn the cam timing to full retard you can run 30psi and make 100 horsepower and have a twin turbo boat anchor.

In my opinion the only thing to be cautious about with boost and this engine is LSPI.

Preignition is what will kill this engine with boost.

look at the next year's (2021) release on the Mothership webpage. Not sure if the 5.7 is gone only to return in future. No way the Tundra will tow shit if it has the same v6 we do without having a twin TT. No TT = slug.

That’s pretty awesome Matt. Is your twin turbo truck AT on 4.88’s and 33’s? can’t wait to see more videos and people with the turbos!

Correct. NO performance (GL with Map Switch) tunes release yet in 2.0 final - pf5 or VFtuner. Last and most current VFTuner release for 2.0 did not contain performance tunes.

??? so no OVTune SC in his Tundra? Trust me if my lame ass State would have allowed OVTune's SC I'd have in installed already. Since that is not the case I'm going a CARB certified Roots blower.

V6 Rav4 with 199K miles (~40K towing, LOL). Regret trading it; should have kept it as a beater.

I came from another Tacoma. A 2WD 3” spindle lifted 5MT 2.4L with a few upgrades. Was such a fun truck to drive with 31’s.

To me its the opposite. Mine drives fine on the highway but putting around town its always huffing along at low RPM or bogging through turns.5th gear at 55kmh even with the tune, Although it sure smoothed out the shifting. I come from driving a 3.9L Dakota, a 3.4L 4Runner and frequently drive a 3.3L Caravan and 4.0L 2012 Taco. So I'm quite familiar with what to expect out of a V6 AT midsizeish vehicle. Those vehicles all had a much more responsive throttle than my 3rd gen V6 it seems

Before the Tacoma, I had a 1st gen Raptor. I loved that truck, but it was ridiculous for the same reasons you state about the Tundra. I ended up getting a Honda CRZ as a daily driver, then one realized I was being dumb. Got the Tacoma, but even after your tune, I just couldn’t get along with it. To me, a truck should make its power low in the RPM range. I just recently traded the Tacoma in on a Jeep Gladiator, and so far, it’s checking all the boxes
