I'll look when I get home to see how many pins I'll need in each plug. From the looks of it on the eBay add, it's 3 or 4. I can't really tell from the pic. I've also got a spare set of tail light plugs, so worst case, I ruin them

This is the diagram from my truck side harness. I just need to figure out how to connect it all.

And this to run back to the tail lights

Only 3 of those wires are going to be used for the tail lights, maybe 4.

I don't think those plugs are going to work with the existing Toyota tail light assembly. You would be better off gutting the lights and gluing in some dedicated trailer LED lights.

Are you planning on having the back up lights and the trailer having electric brakes?

I know enough to where I can hook shit up to the battery and hopefully not drain it.
Hopefully enough to that bluesea thing eventually maybe.

I'm pretty sure its the same plug. Toyota doesn't change little shit like that.

I'm running 1984 washer fluid pump in my 2008 Tundra. It uses the same plug for 30 years.

I have to use the stock Tacoma tail lights. I don't really want to rig it up. I want to be able to use the harness that came with it. The plug would be great, but if needed.....I'll cut the plug off and solder the wires.

Backup lights aren't a "must", just would be nice and the brakes will come later if needed. The axle already has the backing plate on it.

Yeah, true. I'd say you could probably just jimmy rig some pre-wired lights to sit inside the tail light housing on the trailer?

    Who knows.

There has to be a way to make it work. I may start a thread once I can get home and take a pic of everything. There's 5 wires from the 7 wire kit(blue is brakes and white is ground) that go towards the back. Then I will have R turn/stop(Brown), Reverse(Yellow), 12+/Aux(Black), Running/ Tail Lights(Green), and L turn/stop(Red).

The white will be grounded towards the front of the trailer(probably on a frame bolt) and the blue will not be hooked up(I will seal off the end to make sure it doesn't touch anything).

After you grouind the white wire on the frame You are going to have to split the white and run one to each light. The Toyota lights do not ground on the body of the truck (obviously, they are plastic).

Probably best. Enough people around here where someone's either done it or has the technical know how.

Maybe one of the HAM guys like @koditten would know about wiring....

I have to remember all what I was going to do for the relay block.

They don't ground on the truck. They go into that 1 pin and then into the "truck" harness. Why wouldn't grounding the harness work? Worst case I should only have to make 2 grounds....one for each tail light plug.
Yeah. I'm just gonna take a pic of everything and make a thread. And hopefully get a step by step vid or diagram

    Lmao.
In a perfect world, there'd be a YT vid for everything to do to the truck.

There's vids on a Comanche bed trailer, but I didn't see how he wired the lights or if he just used a 4-pin. That's what I used on my Comanche bed trailer.
