I'm kinda looking forward to it. I have all the tools, it's having to do it on my back in the driveway that's no fun. Between my breaker bar, 1/2" impact, and a couple beverages, I'll manage!

What springs and leaf pack did you go with? I was going to advise the HD dakars with your future needs. My medium were flat after armor and rear bumper. Rack, swing gate w/spare, and RTT have them looking like this.

that's a lot of shit to put on the medium pack. you can probably add a leaf to help with the sag. i've got the mediums with slides, front bumper, skids and they look good. i think the addition of rear bumper, RTT, etc would fuck them up

Originally I just wanted lift and tires. Then I used the lift and tires and realized it was stupid without armor.

These are effed, no AAL is going to fix it. I have the Dakar AAL to convert but it's a lost cause. I went to the scales and got a custom leaf pack made to my specs. Going in in 2 weeks with u-bolt flip and new bumps.

I'm looking at lift kit from headstrong. 888 with 5100, planning on front bumper under 150lbs no winch with Dakar leaf pack medium or Deaver j66. Might have to wait till early spring, we'll see. Was debating on aal or hs 3 aal but thinking just get complete leaf packs now, don't want to deal with it down the road. Not planning rear bumper or armor.

Energy Suspensions can KMA. In the package of bushings they sent me, the shackle bushings are too big. Now my truck is sitting in the middle of the driveway until Friday when I get new shackles delivered.

Anyone know what new shackles with bushings go for at a stealership?

Went with the mediums because I'm only going to have an RTT, gear, and family. No armor. If I change my mind then a may look into an AAL, but I'm not in a hurry.

Damn that's frustrating. Not sure... I would guess 50 bucks a side but I'm pulling that out of my butt - could be 20, could be 100. you could also call up your local auto parts store (autozone, napa, etc) they may have some generic options that fit.

Are you sure they're wrong? I don't know about the Energy Suspension kit, but I got all new bushing stuffs (I think OME) when I put in my HD Dakars. We had to burn out the rubber and then cut the metal outermost sleeve from the eye, didn't waste time trying to hammer/press them out. And fire is way cooler :bananadead:

I was talking a coworker this morning about it and he thinks they may still be the right size, but an extremely tight fit. These are on the shackles which dont have the metal outer sleeve so no cutting there. I'm hoping I can use a ball joint tool and the inner sleeve as an alignment guide to press them in. Otherwise I'll have two delivered tomorrow with the bushings already installed.

I did shop around a bit and found them on Amazon for $68/each. All of those places carry the same re-branded Dorman shackles with the bushings. I'm hoping my late night and frustration just caused me to mis-judge the install specs. Going to compare factory bushing diameter to the aftermarkets.

It takes some effort getting them in. Grease, vise, c-clamps, holding your tongue just right. That should set you on the right path lol

Other trick might be a bit of all-thread and some big washers to make a 'press'. May not be as easy as I had the other hole of the UCA to press on when I used this method. A little dish soap and they went right in.

    Damn that's clever!
Should work similarly with the shackle off the truck.

What helps is you crank on it a little then you can use a flathead screwdriver or the like to slightly press in the edges of the bushings into the holes until it pops in. ....if they dont have any taper on the ends of the bushings
