I was just watching this video while standing at the Chief Pilot desk at work. One of our old chief pilots walked in and saw what I was doing; he completely approved my use of time.

It is still there, that section is missing, but the rest of the bridge is still there. Now a popular spot for fishing, diving, etc.

On the video of the Phantoms I noticed something. I'm quite surprised the Japanese used the shark tooth motif on at least one of the Phantoms on static display. I suppose they have short memories.

    Just the basics
Or that they changed their Imperialistic viewpoint after WWII and adopted the paint schemes of the victor-USA.

Yea, I guess a little bit of glowing would change anyone's viewpoint.

The shark-teeth motif was a popular item on all D-model Phantoms used for air superiority. Assuming they got those from us, they were probably painted in a joint maintenance facility.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
    Loved these Utubes -thanks !
I think back to my times on the RC-135's off of North Viet Nam and over Northern Laos, these F-4 guys from either the Navy or the USAF were hanging out during our missions to quickly "fill-in " on our "orbit" area should we have had to skee-daddle back south. Then the fighters would just wait to see what if anything would try to come up and see what this big RC was doing up there. Of course, by that time we were hightailing it back south out of there. Thank the Lord for our F-4's and our on board linguists!!
For more info on our missions read the newish book "Hognose Silent Warrior"
It is written by a linguist from the 6990th SS that was arriving for duty about the time I was leaving Kadena. It is accurate, well written, and interesting. Only bad part is he did not say much about us AMT's

At that time ('71 - '72) my dad was on EC-47s triangulating radio signals, then calling in F-4s or F-5s to drop a bomb or two on the antenna. One day the Phantom dropped a bomb and it disappeared underground. That night, 80 B-52s came through and saturated the area. Mountains were turned into a moonscape. They figured that three mountains had been completed tunneled out and filled with everything needed for a full southern invasion. Sticking up out of the dirt were trucks, artillery pieces, and too many bodies to count accurately.

He was on the electric goon missions for all of Linebacker I and II - it was the reason he was extended past 50 missions (117!).

I would have loved to set the 500 down there, but have a feeling I would have got a scolding!
