You ever have those days where you feel like you just can't win. Well I went to the hand doctor today. He showed me the X-rays of my hands, not a pretty sight. both of my thumb joints are shot to hell. I have trigger finger pretty bad in both hands, along with carpal tunnel syndrome. He's scheduled me for surgery on my left hand(I'm right handed) for the 17th. I sent my primary care dr a message to get his opinion of this doctor doing the surgery. It's a sports medicine specialist,so I hoped I picked a good one. IF my primary care says no bueno, then I'll cancel and go some where else. Six to eight weeks recovery time and everything goes well, then the right hand will get done next.

Good luck. My mother had surgery for carpal tunnel on both her hands many years ago and never regretted it. Still deals with a bit of arthritis but it still beats the issues she had prior.

I hope mine turns out well. bot of my hands hurt so bad sometimes, I can't sleep. It's getting where I can't type anymore, open bottles, or just about do anything that requires hand strength at all. Might have to look at paying a local shop to install my front shocks, since I'm going to be out of commission for a while. After I installed the rear ones, I had to take a break from doing anything to let my body recoup.

When my oldest daughter was about 13, she got all up in my face one day giving me shit, your not my dad, you can't tell me what to do. I informed her that I had a piece of paper(Adopted) stating otherwise. I told her she was digging a hole she wouldn't be able to get out of. but she wouldn't let things go, so I just barely smacked her on the side of her face, no it didn't leave any kind of mark, just wanted to get her attention. She ran to her bedroom, and I followed her. She went to slam the door, but I put my foot in front to stop it. She tells me she's calling the police to report me for child abuse. I told her if she did, to tell them to send an ambulance first, because she'd need that long before the police ever arrived. After that day, we never really had any arguments again, and we get along really well today, for the most part. She's now 34 and I have a 7 year old grand daughter that seriously needs some of my attention. if you know what I mean.
