What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Oof. Yea I took it to them first and paid $100 for them to tell me it's not covered under my warranty. Don't know why they couldn't just do that over the phone. "They had to look at it first", BS.

 

Yep, need quite the poke to clear my rear shocks during articulation. Plus I have no flares on the truck which makes it appear to poke more. One more thing to break off while off-road.

 

Finished wiring up my main switches. Have to wait on heat shrink to finish the harnesses.

 

Did my first oil change since purchase. Was a quick and easy process thanks to the @BlackBeerd Maintenance guide and the @chris4x4 step-by-step guide!

finally got the black textured door handles. Hoping they get in this week before I head out next week for my first trip in it. Because those handles make all the difference out on the trails. ​

What didn’t you like about the Wildpeaks? I’ve seen so many people that like them.
How are the new tires for road noise?

 

I got the Elka 2.0s and SPC UCAs installed over the weekend. These things are a major upgrade over the 2" block lift!
Looking forward to see how they perform and last through the winter and offroad.
Now I need to get some shock boots to protect them from our stupid winter...

Biggest complaint was that in the last 30k miles on them I got 3 puncture flats and two slow leaks. My wife has the tires on her 4runner also and has gotten two puncture flats. I’ve had one puncture in the last 10 years of driving not counting the falkens. I don’t know if they are just way to soft of a compound or what. Road noise with the bfgs are good. They seem like they start getting noisier at about 60% tread life or so from past experience.

 

I see you have the CBI bed bars, what mount did you use to attach the bike rail to? Looks great.

 

I have only done the doors with NOICO sound deadener (more just vibration dampening material). Driving around town there is a noticeable difference, but like mentioned above its still loud on the freeway due to wind noise still coming in from door seal points of entry. When I get more time ill do the floor and back of the cab with the same material. Expect an additional slight improvement but not holding my breath for some fantastical outcome.

 

I designed them myself and got a local fab shop to CNC and bend.
I have one on each side.

How's the road ride? You didn't touch the rear leaf pak?

 

Rear leaf pack is OME Dakar EL095R. Installed those in October 2019 to replace the 3" block.

 

No more cla clunck. Hopefully i get the last two pieces soon. Waiting is the hardest part.

Took a trip to the dump today. 7,920 pounds total (including the truck), on the light side from what my truck normally tows.



Looks like I forgot the boat. Lol
