My wife is awful like this, not for leaving stuff out but the door locking thing. The couple of times she's driven my truck I pleaded with her to lock it up even though I took out my CDs, I have a stereo in there. Both times she didn't..and then wonders why I get mad.

I had heard the general about this happening, didn't they raise the dollar threshold that they would not prosecute to about $1000?

The quote about not being worth their time...man if I was in that room I would have flipped out

My truck was broken into in Oklahoma City in 2008, bunch of stuff stolen. OCPD took 2 hours to come by and glance at my truck, took my statement, and filed the report for insurance.

Sorry to get in the way of a good 2 Minutes Hate.
I mean, certain countries chop off hands for thievery. Still have thievery, though.

I mean, isn't that what they do anyways? My parents house was broken into in the early 90s in broad daylight when we were out. Police came, did a report, dusted the windows for prints and that was it. The last 2 times my vehicles were broken into (early 2000s) Cops will generally just give you a police report to give to your insurance and they're on their way.

I haven't been a victim of the rampant thievery going on. Doubt I will. My particular neighborhood doesn't allow such things. If caught, the first thing you would want us to do is call the cops. We don't.

You might have me there. Did you factor in the profits from stamping out license plates?

I thought about it, but any profit from license plate production would likely go to yacht payments for prison CEOs.

Yup, and once they're finished you'll probably have a productive member of society.

Compared to getting out of prison and can't find a job because people don't want to hire cons, so they fall into a cycle of recidivism. Don't get me wrong I hate thievery but I would prefer resources be spent correcting the situations that lead people to it rather than seek retribution.

I'm not a religious fellow but "love the sinner hate the sin" is definitely applicable.

Appreciate the kind words everyone. Everything is fixed, got a few scratches on the interior so hopefully i can figure out how to buff those out.

good for you man, hopefully they will catch the thieve(s) im sure they probably already have a track record a mile long doing this type of activity, usually they will blame society for the crimes they commit instead of learning a trade when they go to the stone hotel and make good use of their time in.

See the problem today is that society has forgotten what actually works. Well maybe not forgotten, just convinced by mamby pamby do gooders that what works isn't kind.

Simple solution to theft. It is cheap, quick and life long.

On the first conviction, remove the thumb of the dominant hand. Every time the individual looks down or tries to pick something up they'll be reminded that thievery has consequences.
On the second conviction, remove the thumb from the other hand. Now the individual has two constant reminders that thievery has consequences.
On the third conviction, execute the thief because they obviously are incapable of learning how to interact with the rest of society.

Relatively cheap as compared to housing and feeding a thief for years.

I think the best solution it to give the criminals the education they need to be prison CEOs. That would be a win/win in my books.
