I have. It's a pretty good one. I usually run the trails around Peppercorn Hill in Upton because it's right across from me on the lake I live on. Though the Whitehall ones are longer overall. The Peppercorn hill ones have more vertical though.

I actually stumbled upon peppercorn hill on my drive home after I ran whitehall. I saw a parking lot / trail head while driving home and stopped in to check out the sign and maps.

My wife, kids and in-laws do peppercorn regularly.

I prefer the trails behind my wife’s grandfathers Xmas tree farm in Mendon...on something motorized.

I do still have some Heady Topper left from the VT trip. That will go down smooth after mowing the lawn tonight if needed. I forgot it's thirsty thursday, at least there's a saving grace in there!

    :luvya:

But we did have some time off due to the 'rona situation, so I can't really complain - I did get the opportunity from that to drive all the way to Texas over 2 weeks. Fortunately not itching for another road trip yet, but I have a feeling in the winter when it gets to be -10°F some week I might try to sneak out for a few week and boogie down to Florida or something for a few days and get some warmth.

I'm with you on this. Translation gets lost in text. Better to just not do it on the internet at all and especially don't do it in this forum! It's against the rules!

Jello Biafra said long ago (before the Internet)..I used to know the verbatim but basically..don't believe everything you read, do your research, get a second opinion, and make sure the kneejerk reaction isn't the wrong one.

    Nuff said

Last year in SC Dec. 26th to 28th was 75 every day in Awendaw. Was a nice break from being up here. I had a nice 3 month staycation on the couch from being unemployed and NH seems to be way behind on their unemployment. They finally approved mine at the beginning of August, right after I started at the new shop

Yeah if it does end up being a drive I'd probably land in SC since that can be a good haul day trip, it's about a 14 hour drive from Providence to Charleston, wouldn't need to make it all the way to Florida. But, making it to FL could be just for fun too, maybe split it up and take another day on the road for a road trip. Who knows, we'll see what happens come winter storms!

I don’t do Face book, and I do agree, folks are not accountable for what they say. But I can not just sit around and do nothing. I like to know what people are thinking and why.
And honestly, I thought I was keeping it low key, not getting political. But clearly someone else didn’t agree.

    1. Moving is a pain in the dick. It's expensive too.
    2. Stacking 2 cords of wood after reengineering the preexisting 2 cords of scattered would is a pain in the dick-and back.
    3. NH has the absolute most goatfucked and convoluted vehicle registration system I have ever encountered. WTF-NH? Granted, this will only be the 5th state and 2nd country I have had a reg in, but holy fuck. o_O

I figure next time I move, I'm just leaving most of it behind. None of my furniture is amazing and I wouldn't miss it.

I did 2 cord a couple of Saturdays ago. It was already split and tossed into a pile, so I just had to stack it and tarp it. Took about 2.5 hours. It's a pain when it's not in a shed, though. Goes a lot faster when you can just run rows from wall-to-wall and don't have to worry about making it free-standing.

I did that when I moved from Richmond, VA to MA. At the time, I had a Chevy 1500 ext cab short bed and I rented a 6x12 trailer. I taped out a 6x12 box on the floor a couple weeks ahead of time and started stacking. If it didn't fit in the box, it went to the dumpster. I had a grille and the motorcycle in the bed of the truck so I lost a lot of storage room right off the bat with those.

I have some storm damage trees I have to split still, I hit them with a wedge and they just bounced, might need to rent a splitter I'd like to get them split and stacked ASAP so I can maybe have them to burn for late winter Feb/Mar timeframe.

Day 2, or maybe 3(counting is difficult), of me being back in New England we had a big old storm come through which knocked a tree into the lawn of my rental house. All I had was a dull as crap axe to cut some decent hardwood-not fun.
I would let that wood dry out before I tried splitting it. Either that or wait until early winter and it freezes. Kinda depends on what corner of RI you're in-the coast-rent a splitter now, the W/NW, I might wait a bit.
