Use to take me 15 hours from western MA to get to Charleston. Haven't done the drive from NH yet but hopefully can go down and visit again this year

I was amazed how much of a difference a really good axe head makes when cutting wood. I was at at place, friend of a friend, they cleared a lot and cut it all into 16" sections and it was come, split your own and take what you want. I brought my crappy axe and was working myself silly (I was 23 at the time and actually in pretty good shape), this old guy who had to be in his 60's was working next to me and about doubling my production. He finished his pile and handed me his axe. What a game changer! I now have a nice Fiskars splitting axe. Old crappy hasn't been touched since that day.

Yeah, when you're splitting by hand a good maul does make a huge difference.

Yeah I grabbed some pallets from work today. I’m going to mow the lawn and whatnot tonight and hit it with a wedge. If it starts to split I’ll split it but if it just bounces again I’ll put the pallets in the sun of the back yard and stack the logs back there for a few months. Will kill some of my lawn probably but it’s screwed anyway. Unfortunately that’s a good section of the lawn I’ll be killing :D

realistically I’d just go on Craigslist and find a splitter for the same cost as renting one.

let me know if you do and I’ll tag along :D

I might be remembering from Greenville instead of Charleston. Oh well. Either way it’s closer to 14 ish hours rather than Texas which is around 30. Gets me to the sun and sand when it’s snowing and cold as hell up on the northern bits.

I normally stay out in Awendaw at a friend's mom's house and have a couple buddies down there. Go out on the boat and do some trap shooting off the boat

if I go back down I’m either headed toward IOP or near the Croatan, camp out there and sit on the beach all day for a few days. Would be hard to beat that when I can check the weather back home and it’s 3 degrees and snowing :D

Seen some threads of people doing a roof top tent underneath a soft topper. Including short beds. Now I’m sort of regretting pawning off the soft topper, that would be a slick setup for traveling. Still with plenty of space under the tent for storage. Might not be able to easily fit a bike but if you take off the front wheel and pedals you could still fit a cooler and a few totes. Gah. My spending may continue into next year. Kipping up in the cab on the back seat isn’t horrible either but still. Definitely a possibility for a future setup.

Either Soft Topper or Bestop used to make a kit where you could carry a bike next to the topper, just off of the bed rail. I don't see it on either of their websites anymore but thought it was pretty neat.

Here you go, on a Tacoma even:
Not sure why they would have stopped making them.

someone actually made a thread and fabbed up those brackets a few months back. They’re great for traveling but if you need to leave your truck somewhere for a few hours, I’d rather not leave my bike out in the open. I am surprised they don’t keep making those, I guess they aren’t a hot seller. People probably getting the topper to store their bike why would they want more storage space? :notsure::notsure:

need to troll Facebook and the like for rooftop tents now. They’re good but I need to either fab or get bed racks and I’m not about to spend 2k when I’ve done two weeks and then some kipping up in the back seat. And I can do that with the dog.

Like the idea of the electric if you are only using it around the house. And honestly unless you are a cleaning business, there will always be an extension cord that works.

Let us know how it is!

I have an electric pressure washer. Not that brand but it always works. Best tip is to store it in the basement in the winter to prevent the water left in it from freezing.

I have that pressure washer. I think. Might be one step up or down I dunno got it on Craigslist. Like bridge said for around the house as a homeowner it’s great! Haven’t had any problems with mine.

For what they tend to cost, worth it. I’ve had a an electric that I bought on clearance about 4 years ago, it’s works good, and I let my teenage son use it every year.

BIL got a new m14 yesterday, going to walk down to the river and figure out a good range into the hillside so we can do some target shooting. Something I should have had set up by now anyways!
