A buddy of mine is all about his camaros and how they are so fast. It’s gonna be fun to leave him in the dust with the cyber truck.

Just get the 3000W solar array if you go off road.

Genny in the back. Using some petrol from time to time is better than gulping ICE amounts?

Yeah if you're going overnight even a small generator and gas should be mandatory.

It wouldn't be too bad and would really help with the neophyte range anxiety stuff.

I’m not really worried about range. Lots of tacos getting 200-300 miles per tank (I’m around 350 usually), cybertruck rated at 500

Having a solar panel to constantly recharge would be sweet though

The biggest issue is the all electric vehicles charge super slow, like all day on 110V you really need 220V.

    Exactly.

But, if folks want to do a few days off grid, there are easy ways to prep. Given the effort of jerry cans, a genny or panels is just about the same.

That would be interesting. You'd have to run a 2200w Honda at full capacity for ~45 hours to fill up a 100kWh Cybertruck battery.

Great in a pinch I suppose.

It depends how much charge you need.

We get a ton of hand flapping around here from folks who "never go below half a tank" or think the motor is gonna stop when DTE say 0mi. Hahaha!

I had a buddy in college that tried to time it perfect and coast into the gas station on fumes. Wasn't very fun traveling with him.

Lol. I was camped down the street from someone with a clapped out harbor freight generator. It sounded like it was going to throw a rod - for hours and hours and hours and days on end.

When I bought the Tacoma I was really disappointed because I really thought I was buying a race truck!! I didn’t think I was buying one of the best off-road mid-sized trucks made. And when I lifted it and got bigger mud tires and hundreds of pounds of armor I thought maybe I should get a parachute for the drag races. It’s a truck people! The off-road capabilities far make up for the on road.

That is not fun. I just like to know my true range and do not believe that hanging out a gas station was fun as it was in HS. My average fillup is 18.3gal. As George Carlin says . . .

There some folks who have chosen to be 'homeless' doing that around here. But, they are not at a camp. City streets, truly the concrete canyons these days.

Ugh that sucks. Generators are for emergencies as far as I'm concerned. I've had to put up with too many of them while camping to have any kind of positive opinion. The noise is one thing, but I have a special hatred for that asshole in banff who started up the diesel on his barge of an RV at 8 in the morning and poured ether smoke into my tent.

I didn't help that he had Texas plates. Jerk making my home state look bad (worse?).
