Trusses are totally worth buying too. Screw cutting out all that plate to make one.

Not as much as I'd like. Missed half the racing season because of moving and Coronavirus. Torpedoed what was supposed to be a week long trip to EJS and Sand Hollow.

Badlands this weekend, racing in Indianapolis at the end of the month, Windrock in October and Flat Nasty in November.

You still wheeling that truggy from a friend?

yeah, could I build my own? probably, with enough time and motivation anything is possible. does it make sense to buy nice brackets and save time? to me it does.

Same thing with link mounts, spring hangars, etc. I know some people want to build absolutely everything but if i can pay a small amount more and save the effort I am going to.

It's a bummer that you have missed out on a bunch of stuff so far this year. Sounds like the schedule for this fall is looking good though. What do you race?

After lots of going back and forth I bought it :homer:

Awesome that you bought that truck! Should be a ton of fun!

    Ok

    WHAT THE FUCK?

I made my request for 14th - 21st off last week. I have plenty of accrued vacation time and haven't taken a real vacation in a long time.

I haven't heard anything, so today I sent an email to ask whether or not this has been looked at.

Response - it's approved, as long as the other finance manager can cover.

I text the other finance manager, who mind you, just joined us in July. I've been running this department alone since November of last year.

Other finance manager replies with "can't work 7 days straight, no child sitter, etc"

    Ok, I get it.

I want her to have her 2 days off as normal, but here's where it gets to me - when I was running this department solo (normally run by 2 people for many years), I've also had the pleasure of covering our other 2 stores that regularly have 2 finance managers. Those guys have taken vacation plenty of times.

So, if the other finance manager can't cover me, it seems like my request isn't really approved for the full 7 days because I won't be able to utilize the full 7 days due to lack of coverage from our own store.

I just sent an email stating the above info (more tactfully typed) trying to figure out why other stores wouldn't cover us when we have done so for so long.

    /rant

I'll just end up talking to the owner myself.

Everyone is intimidated by him, literally everyone.

I've done 1 on 1's with him before over serious matters, and since I rarely bother him with those, he will take the time to listen.

I am always looking out for the company's best interest and that's why I take my request personally; I've been here 8 years.

Yeah, I just got told of a raise, and solidifying my position as general sales manager, but if I can't take time off, the money ain't worth it.

Totally not worth it. Don't forsee that being a problem for you though, I'm sure the owner will make it work for you especially since you just got a raise.. they know your worth

fuck diyers who slap shit together just well enough to pass the problem on to someone else. Pulled toilet for drain clean and found no flange on the drain and toilet caulked to tile with a bunch of wood and 1x1" tiles stacked to make it level.
