I haven't quite figured out what my HOA does, or when they meet, or how I can piss them off.

I always wondered if they were any good... since the stuff is kinda expensive and I didn't want to experiment. What kind do you have? I've seen a couple of different kinds at Lowe's.

My only concern will be when I put in my shed. Apparently, they have rules about orientation of the doors and something about needing plants along the sides.

 

Morning susan. No idea what kind they are, but they do work (it helps that I cut down a good bit of the trees near the house. Consumer reports did a test on them and rated the Lowes/Home Depot ones better than the commercially installed versions. On the old house, I just put them on one edge of the house, the one that had the most clogging issues.

That's a good plan, my only issue would be some lost hunters thinking it was a duck blind and moving in.

 

I'll need to put them all around my house... the one time when I dislike my trees I love the shade, so I guess it's worth the trade off.

 

I've got someone coming over this week to get me a price on them, I don't mind cleaning the front gutters (one story) but in the back it's 3 stories up, I've got a cape with a dormer and a walk out basement. The older I get, the more my legs start to shake when I got up there!

 

I only cut down the trees that were causing issues, like the one right by my deck, it was right around the size that it would start coming down on its own. didn't need no poplar on my roof.

I have 3 oak trees w/in 10 feet of my house and two more bigger ones w/in 20 feet... They provide lots of shade and I do realize they could fall on the house, but I'll run the risk of keeping them. Should they show signs of disease or dying, I will have them chopped down (already did that to one) but until then, I will enjoy the shade.
