Tried that. Not enough angle and too much stress on the bed. Just about ripped it apart.
    Thanks though.

Its a BassTender 9.4 plastic boat. Weighs about 150lbs. We slide it up on rails then lift. Getting older, want to make it easier on us.
Thought about Backrack but it doesn't have any support to keep it from pulling out.

I don’t know of anything that would suit your needs. It sounds like you’ll want something that ties into the frame, meaning the front two bed mounting bolts. My recommendation, find a local fabricator to build you something specific to your needs. Then it’ll be plenty strong and work exactly as intended. With the right design, you could winch another truck from back there.

Go look at my pictures and look at my headache rack. If I need to get a better picture for you let me know. You could mount a ATV winch to that and it will do what you want to do.

OK. Did you make or have that made?
Does it use the rail mounting system?

I would be real leery of winching off the plastic bed sides.

So, if you’re going to attach it to the bed bolts, that’s gonna take up a bunch of room near the wheelwells.

What about a trailer? You'd keep your Tacoma untouched.

Sounds like something I’m building now. If I get it tacked up this weekend I will post a pic. My intentions are to be able to winch a log into the bed... sawmill is about a mile down the road.

We can't use a trailer. We tow a Travle trailer with the boat in t he back of the truck, strapped down at an angle resting on the tailgate.
Some pics of what you're putting together would be great.

I put a rollbar in my truck but it just bolts into the plastic bed so you would need to find a way to tie it into the frame to make it strong enough to winch in. How wide is the boat, it would need to fit in between the legs going to the wheelwells.
