Charlotte, NC area: hate on OP, houses, boats & hoes

This is why I quit my last job, if I wasnt answering one of my 400 emails (no exageration) I would get daily I was in 9hrs of BS strategy meetings wanting to stab my eyes out. I'm in INDOC training now for my new job/company and I about fell out of my chair in excitement when I heard "you should be out on the work floor a majority of your day, if you are in meetings or doing admin work you are doing something wrong" sweet!!!

 

emails are like 85% of my job

I flat out don't answer my desk phone, I don't like talking to people.

Some guy kept calling a few days ago, so I picked up pretending to be my boss and told the guy "Matt is deaf, so you'll have to email him"...

 

LOL!! I was/am the same way, I told everyone dont bother calling me, just email me. Partly because I cant stand talking on the phone, the other part was because the workplace culture was so toxic I needed documented conversations to bail my ass out when the field managers tried to throw me and my team under the bus.

Career advice from approaching middle aged slander to the young workers out there: dont chase money, chase quality of life!

my work is great but some customers can be a pain in the ass and like to do the whole “you said on the phone” when I never said it. Now I make sure everything is black and white. My boss told me once; Always CYA.

I'm so glad I dont have to deal with customers, only "internal customers". Even then its "fine dont listen to me, and when someone gets hurt it's your ass" send them the CYA email and put that in the never delete, keep me out of jail, folder.

 

I hope I don't have a daughter. thats probably how all of you feel

I totally get where you are coming from. The oldest is almost 3 and the other just turned 2mo today. I've got a few more years before I completely lose my shit.

 

I can only hope my 8month old son will grow up and protect his older sister. Also need to get her enrolled in karate soon she is 3.

 

Don't waste time with Karate for self defense, get her started with Jiu Jitsu.
