Someone please explain this to me. I paid $35,500 for my 2018 TRD Off Road in 2018. That was a fair price back then. I have 39,000 miles on mine today.

How in the world could my truck be worth this kind of money now? I know Tacos hold their value well, but dealers here in Cincinnati are asking more for 2017/2018 equivalent used trucks than I paid for mine new. What the heck is going on? This is hilariously strange to me. Screenshot_20200903-225223.jpg

Yep, there's a huge Carvana post lately thats getting tons of traction here with members selling it and getting slightly less or about what they paid for it! Some have even gotten MORE! Similar to home prices in my area right now, its all about supply and demand. Currently there is such low inventory of Tacomas that prices have gone up...

    I think I need a test.

The factory was shut down and peeps have been buying up anything that was available. Now, it is the used ones' turn.

I've been considering getting rid of 2017 if i can get close to what I paid for it. I use my truck bed but not everyday, maybe a few times a month for home renovations and rental property renovations. I would jump into a 4runner but i'm afraid i'll miss having a truck bed...

If you want to get rid of a newer Tacoma, nows a good time. Trade up for newer year or different trim? Not so much.

Thanks for the responses. I haven't checked in here in quite a while and have been out of the loop. Very interesting.

Exactly, i had this discussion with a buddy yesterday. He was debating selling his home since values have sky rocketed 50-75k in our area. But i debated with him, if he's selling his home for top dollar, he's also buying/building his home for top (if not even more) dollar. So really, it all gets washed out in the long run. Only difference is maybe you can nab a lower interest rate

Was just thinking that, too. Selling your house in a hot housing market and rebuying makes no sense, especially since interest is so front loaded. The banks make a shit ton even at 3% because the average person only keeps their house for 7 years.
