Speaking of Big Bikes, hows the mini-shredder project coming?

Work in progress my friend. Work has been nuts lately. Just got it pulled apart and first coat of rattle can on it the other day. Plan to finish it up of the holiday weekend. Pics to follow for sure

For sure. Looks like the high country here is slated to get 7" of SNOW Wednesday. Even Boulder is supposed to get 6”. Can't even imagine that, it's been 90... Wouldn't be surprised if the Cottonwoods got a couple of inches Tuesday. Might make Wednesday epic :)

RIGHT!? I showed my wife the picture and she ran out of the room screaming, "FUCK THAT THING!" I got pretty close to it, set up that rock for it to crawl on so I could get a better pic. I think it's just a Hobo with a colorful eggsac, but I could be totally wrong. I know shit about spiders. I just know that was one to stay away from.

Like more wrist-based HR monitors, riding on rough terrain kills it's ability to get a solid read. And MTB is mostly riding on rough terrain. You can crank down the silicone strap so it's better, but it's been significantly off for long portions of rides at times. A chest strap is really the only way you're getting a solid read, but I can't do it. It's too "athlete" for me.
The altimeter is based on the barometer reading. As such, as the pressure increases/decreases due to weather, your altimeter readings change. The software is ok at compensating, but sometimes it's off by hundreds of feet, sometimes it's dead on. I will say that after spending time calibrating it, it's much better. Before that it was off by thousands of feet.
Overall though, great watch. No buyers regret. It performs exactly as I need it to.

Fair! There is some in reasonable range just not my local trails I ride most frequently. A new baby doesn’t make extended trips easier either.

Yep! I pulled up the weather forecast yesterday and ordered cold gear today to get me through at least mid November. Gotta love Colorado weather.

Yep, every hour is different here. Even more extreme difference 30 miles north of you in Loveland / Fort Collins. A 60° difference from Sunday to Tuesday.
