Fortunately it Broke on a fire road. Pretty sure that the washboard put it over the edge.

Yea my passenger side tie rod is a pro forged, and have had zero problems with it so far. Pretty similar to 555 imo.

Yea in Colorado on the way to imogene pass. Fortunately had a spare to change it out, and didn't take too long to get it swapped. Could have been way worse if it was actually on the trail.

This was after doing ote's, I counted the threads and marked everything off the old ones position. Apparently I just suck at counting and coloring haha.

 

The BPV isn't really that big of a deal. You just use the base as a template for the holes, drill, and tap the inside of the frame plate... I used the original mounting bolts.


That is a good point about the spare... if you don't want to relocate it, boxing the frame isn't a good option.

 

I had the same thing happen. Actually it turned out the new OTRE's I got (OEM from dealer) had slightly less threads on them than the ones I took off, so my counting didn't help much. Just had to drive it a couple miles to the nearest Firestone for a toe 'n go and it was good.

 

Did you use the lowers I sent you?

Yes, I’ve had it for a little over two years now. No complaints. Put it through a lot of abuse, still looks great.

 

Pretty happy with my titanium 125 from harbor freight. If you don't mind the spatter from flux core it'll do most things we need on a truck for under $200. Great starter setup in my opinion.




Also, my frame is boxed and it's bent in front of the spring perch. That's the factory boxed section and the fulcrum when trying to climb ledges... Might be worth reinforcing for those who aren't afraid of pushing there rigs.

 

I don't know if its s regular cab thing but the top shock mount has no drain and is welded to the frame, my truck has zero rust but now
Is showing some rust on this mount area.
So it needs to be cut out, All the Tacomas with this mount will rust sooner or later.
Thats why boxing it would be better with drain holes under.

 

Definitely a single cab feature.

I'd just drill a drain hole and be done with it.

I'll have to check mine out.
