Hmmm. I can't see that tires would have any effect in my case, as I had no vibes immediately before lifting and suddenly had vibes after lifting, using the same stock BFG Rugged Trails both before and after lift. The tires didn't change before and after lift, so I don't see how they could be the culprit...?

Anyway, I am going to un-lift my truck on Monday and do more research on this issue. I'm way out of warranty and my total miles are way higher than most folks with 2nd Gens, so I'm really spooked about having a major part blow up on me and having to shell out gobs of $$$. Can't afford to fix anything major, and it sounds like the diff is definitely not a DIY repair.

Maybe swapping out the front diff with an ARB front air locker would fix the problem :D

That will be first thing on my list when I win the lottery

I read a thread a couple months back somewhere that talked about the front diff replacement (I thought I was experiencing the same thing after installing my 5100's), and it diagrammed out how to replace that drivers side diff bearing for about $400 without having to dismantle the entire axle. I almost did it, but decided to give it a few days, and eventually decided my vibes were in my head. None the less, I'll do some searching around and see if I can find that thread for you.

Thanks... you and I were on the same wavelength, as I just spent about 20 minutes looking for that very thread. I found it and bumped it to see if anyone else has tried that bearing swap:

Sorry I bought the 3* axle shims just like the Toytec ones buy way cheaper. I did have to drill out the center hole a little bit.

The first thing I would check is the Universal joints. Mine went out at 90K and the center one was dust! Normally when you do a lift, it puts more travel on the U-joints and they are used to less travel. Bonus: The new joints are greasable. Just my humble opinion.

    Well I did it. :(

Un-lifted my truck back to stock ride height, re-aligned, and the vibes went away. Drives smooth as glass again. Why couldn't it just drive this smooth lifted?
