Have you checked out the lift section of the forum? There's so much good information over there. It helped me immensely. You have to commit yourself to reading most of it though. There's an excellent comparison section. It even includes spacers and blocks.

Obviously, the worst thing you can do is to fall prey to peer pressure. Remember, these trucks are capable to do a lot from the factory. Ask yourself, "what exactly do I need it to be capable of doing beyond that?" Maybe your first mods should be armor. Armor will allow you to push the limits of your stock truck more than a 2" lift. Sure, lifting the truck will allow you to run taller tires which helps increase the travel height of your undercarriage but without armor, you're still vulnerable.

Sliders for example. Not only are they going to protect your rocker panels and quite possibly the doors, they will help keep you from hanging up on obstacles impeding your progress. Skid plates are going to protect some of the most important, if not the most important components of your truck. The engine, transmission and transfer case. Damage one of these and no amount of lift is going to get you off the trail and back home. An often overlooked piece of armor are your ABS sensor connections on the LCAs. Snap one and it's mayhem for your computer.

If you have no interest in anything but forest roads, light trails or the beach, and nothing that involves severe drops, articulation or anything faster than a couple mph then a quality spacer and block kit could be just the thing for you. You could supplement that with some heavier coils and an add a leaf to compensate for any added weight light a winch, or a bed rack and/or RTT.

It's definitely a tough decision. I'm with ya. These trucks definitely look better lifted. However, they look great not lifted too. Knowing you're capable of enjoying your truck no matter what situation you want to put it in is the most important thing.

sliders and skids should be first if you plan on wheeling. Just my 2 cents. A stock OR 4x4 is more than capable for almost everything in the area. @Majora ’s truck did everything mine could do stock. Was very impressed!

Whats the price difference? What's the weight difference? I've seen those Falkens on @Russty__ Taco and they are pretty damn sexy.

285/55r16's are what I run Eric. They are narrower than the OEM 16's that come on the Pro but 2" taller. The 255/80r17 are the exact same size except for a minor difference in the sidewall (that doesn't matter one bit). Good choice. I love mine. I think @Majora Andrew picked up a set too. He was on the fence. I don't think he's unhappy.

Uh, no, I mean "we" as is in I will bring the beer and supervise and armchair the entire operation and then watch you test it out on the ramp from dry ground, and once you're sure it works board, and first mate TF outta that maiden voyage, naturally enjoying as many cold beverages as humanly possible.

Oh, then later I will help eat whatever fish you catch. :hungry:

I’ll be going with those. My plan is to use them 255/80/17- to wrap the SCS BR6, dark bronze. Going with the 17s to have more tire choices and they are an 8.5 wide wheel, well that and I really wanted 285/70/17s to be just higher than 33s. Just want to hold off on CMC for a while too.

I think the dark bronze SCS wheels look awesome in black. What offset are you planning on getting for the BR6?

Me too. The -10s. While the poke would probably look really good with the -38, I don’t want to be forced to cut yet.

Ended up getting 16" F5 wheels. Wish the 16 came in a -10mm offset. Best I could do was a 0mm offset since I didn't want to do any cutting.

I could be wrong, and get what Danny is saying but I don't think the gears will care if it's Toyota brand or McDonald's brand as long as it's a good quality product and the same viscosity numbers. Synthetic and Non-synthetic are not compatible at all. I am known to be wrong from time to time so definitely do your research.

I use Mobile 1 from BJ's in my engine. I buy my gear oil from Walmart.

I hear you on that one. Those F5s look good too! From what I’ve read I should be “ok” with the -10 offset and 4.3 backspace lol. Just gotta wait till they are in stock when I get the money to order em.

Anybody near the Fort Meade area doing an interior chrome delete? I'll take your chrome pieces if you're going to throw them away. Looking at rattle canning them.
