If the truck was older I might not care as much. It does not seem that easy to find 75w-80 synthetic but 75w-90 synthetic is. I know it’s probably best to keep the same fluids in since some brands may have additives that are slight different formulations and such. I was thinking the two, as long as both GL5 and close to same # should be ok. I’ve seen a few posts that people mix 75w 1XX in with the 75-85.

I had SCS wheels on my previous Taco. They make a quality product. That's gonna look incredible on the metallic black. Can't wait to see it.

Sure am. But with all trucks being slightly different it might not fit the way I hope. I also am planning on new UCAs, still looking at JBA.

No idea how long we’ll be waiting.

I still need you get you your tools back. Maybe I can drop them off next weekend or the one after.
We are self quarantining right now. My kid went back to school this week and his best friend had close contact with someone that tested positive for covid. While my kids friend tested negative, he was tested within a few days of the exposure. We are waiting till the friend gets retested before seeing people or 14 days has passed for him with no symptoms. Though they say my kid can go back to school already...

Well, when I did my ECGS bushing it was recommended to me to use what they suggest.

"We recommend 85w140 Non-Synthetic Lucas differential oil"

This is not what you wanted to hear but what I followed.

    https://eastcoastgearsupply.com/files/PDF Files/ecgs-gear-oil-recommendation1.pdf

On the up side, you can get a quart of this stuff for $8.99 at any Autozone or Pepboys. At that price you can replace all off it. That's what I did.

 Is that each or for all 4? I hope 4!!!!! 4 lbs ain't shit. I am going to recommend the Falkens to my niece (she wants something aggressive looking) if she doesn't go for the Cooper Discoverer A/T3. I'm trying to put the best tire for the least amount of money I can find on her 4R. Since she doesn't go off road it's easier for me. Since she's like her uncle RobP62 it's hard for me. LOL

Thanks, we appreciate it. We knew there was a risk sending him back to in person school but thought we would get past the first few weeks before anything.

I’m tempted to just change the oil but the truck only has 3K miles on it. It’s probably fine, I doubt I lost more than an oz or 2 when I replacing the bushing. I made sure the drivers side was a few inches higher than the passengers to make sure.

Thanks for the recommendations Mason. I think since if she wanted to see the Falkens in person I could set that up, and the fact that @Russty__ likes them so much those would be my choice. Only $10 more per tire for the SL range in her size.

I think I'd go for the cheaper, taller tire if I were you. Especially since they are both E range. MT has a good tire, and a hell of a reputation but I think with that said they would be more talked about if they were better than their competitors.

I’ll tell you this Rob, i have the p rated AT3Ws on my 2000 Rust Runner, we put them on mom’s 2018 TRD OR T4R, and dad just bought a set for his 2020 TRD OR Tacoma.

    we like falkens.

what i dont like about falkens, is that they switched to over seas manufacturing. So all their passenger tires are now made in Thailand. Where as before they were made stateside.

now i’m told only the LTs are made stateside.

HOWEVER, the LT265/70R17 E Falken MT01s that are on my truck now, are made in Thailand.

i’m done buying foreign made tires if i can help it. The Falkens on my 4runner were made in the USA, dads and moms are both from Thailand.

I don’t want to spend $840 on another set of falkens only to lose my shit when i see thailand on them :goingcrazy:

I knew there was a reason why I always hated school!

Yea, then just go get you some of the same type anywhere. Hell, an once low is what, 2 tablespoons? I doubt that would even make a difference. At the same time, better to err on the safer side.

Interesting. Where are the Mickey's made? I hope I can convince her to buy the tire protection plan. I buy it if I can. It's worth the extra $100 not to have to deal with arguing about a defect. But it's more than that in most cases. Free flat fix, rotation, balancing, on top of an extended warranty is piece of mind. That's priceless.

    Lol, same.

I spend too much time in these forums and have seen a handful of people say they had low fluid from the factory. While I’ve got no reason the think mine is, I know I did lose some, and there is not much stopping me from getting some, a pump and adding just to be sure. I might just go with what I can get from Autozone, 75w90 Valvoline syntethic just to top it off and do a full change at like 10k miles.
On that note, it’s not much more effort to get to Jones and get a qt of the same stuff that’s in there now. Just would be a shame to spend close to 30 for xxoz of fluid, that might not even be needed

@Taco Guy11 and i are about to do his ECGS bushing tomorrow and we will be changing the fluid out when we do it. Just might as well while we’re there, and lucas 85-140 is what we will be using.
