    Thanks @tonered
If you have any quick tips on how to get this all set up so I can disable the seatbelt chimes, and increase the half turn signal flashes to 7 from 3, that would be amazing. Super comfortable with open source tuning in the Subaru world via tactrix and my laptop, just looking for pointers on how to do those 2 seemingly simple things on the Tacoma with TechStream..

I have a 2018 TRD by the way.... Thanks again man.

    You're welcome!

I was completely lost trying to figure out OpenPort for our 2014 XT. But then, not long after I started considering it, the second VVT sprocket shit the bed. I'm not messing with it now. It can stay stock. :D

Just follow the info in the ECU Update thread 1st Post. It has a link to the TS download with @Shellshock 's step by step installation instructions and right under the instructions at the bottom of the post is @CdnSldr 's link to all of the Customization screens in TS.

You should be able to cruise through with what you want. But, if you have any questions, please let me know.

Also, check your ECU ID. If you're 04A60 (AT) or 04A70 (MT), be sure to do the update. The TSB improvements are real.

You rock brother, thank you so much....Now to try and see if I can get it working on my WinXP netbook....its worked for years with RomRaider for me, but not seeing anything that tells me if TS will work with XP...heh

    No problem!

I think TS V12 worked on XP and believe that TS V14, which is need for 2018 Taco Customizations, needs at least Win7. I loved XP, but had to move on when even Chrome support ended. Give V14 a try and see if it installs for you?

I believe that @Shellshock has TS on his Mac with Bootcamp, if you're of that persuasion?

This is the post that I am talking about:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ecu-tsb-update.562550/

I have not seen that version of V12 before. You can certainly give it a shot. I know that V12.20.019 will not Customization a 2018, but that version might?

I was able to get 12.30.017 installed, but it looks like I need an activation code or
Ok, so I downloaded and installed that version, then I downloaded the version in your sig, installed it over the top of the previous version and it updated it just fine. Then applied the "fix" as outlined in your readme and got it up and running... In other words, it accepted the code. Now to see if I can make it talk to my taco...heh

So quick question, for push to start tacos, do I just push the button once, or do I have to push it twice to get to the point where the dash is lit up to make a connection?

    Nice work!

You should be good to go. Just need to select the Tactrix drivers on the first run.

    Canada Eh!
Two presses of the PTS (without the brake pressed) is ignition on. One press is accessory.

Twice. Ignition on, but no engine running unless you are monitoring / logging.

Just for sanity sake, here is the Tactrix cable I am referring to, it is OBDII and it is a genuine Tactrix from back in the day... Is this going to work for me?

    @tonered

Based on the reading I have done so far, im thinking that the Tactrix I have which is OpenPort 1.3 is not going to work. The instructions on the ECU Update thread say OpenPort 2.0
I am not willing to risk bricking my ECU so I am going to hold off..... Laptop sees the Tactrix and installed the drivers just fine, but I am a bit leery about trying to make a connection to the truck knowing this is OpenPort 1.3 and the drop down in TS specifically calls for OpenPort 2.0 or TIS TechStream VIM

    Thoughts?

You can run a cable check in TS to verify it has the required functions. It's on the top menu somewhere.

There is no risk with Customizations. Bricking is only a problem with poor connections when flashing entire ECU software.

If it has the Jxxxx comms protocol, you should be good.

Maybe? It different than our 2.0s and 3.0s, but it is more about the chips inside and the drivers.

So, it shows up as Tactrix in Techstream, but no matter what I do, when I select OpenPort 2.0 in TS, I cannot get it to connect to the ECO, it always returns a "cannont connect" or whatever error.
I have tried 3 different laptops now, a netbook (XP) a full size (XP) and a full size (Win10)

Not surprised by the Win10 lappy because I can't even find openport 1.3 drivers for win10, but the other 2 running XP have installed the Tactrix drivers no problem...

    Im stuck..

I am sorry to hear that.

The Tactrix 2.0 is a beast of an adapter and seems to work well on our Mazda also.
