Pretty sure it only covers a vehicle for over seas transport and not cross country. Once your orders are cut head over to your PPMO and they should help you out.

Also once you get an order number go to move.mil and make an account for this PCS and they have okay info for getting by.

The moving office is there to help you so ask all the questions you need.

A paid off Prius with only 60k? No way I'm selling it.. that thing is practically going to pay YOU from here on out.

Its front wheel drive, a tow dolly would be fine

If you want to fit in upon arrival to the golden state you better sell that thing ahead of time and lease her a Tesla.

we've never had to ship a vehicle before, so this is a new situation for us. I felt like the taco community would be helpful in getting some feedback.
i'll check when orders for the move get cut.

Just in case it actually helps your math, I had a 2013 pkg 2 Prius bought new with prepaid maintenance plan, all service performed at the same dealer, 40k miles, I wasn’t using it for anything beyond my short work commute and groceries. Purchase price was 22-24 ish, Costco pricing, nothing fancy, no mods, bone stock, excellent condition, not even any dog fur, one ding on front bumper. As my prepaid maintenance expired they offered me $10k and then A year later $9k via their trade in program. I figure they probably couldn’t sell it for much more than 12k, 13 tops.

Granted, I wouldn’t expect a good initial offer but it put things into perspective. The Gen 3 Prius has significant supply here. Back in 2006 when I got my corolla, the Gen 2 Prius was very hard to find, wait list in months, and went for MSRP. Times have changed.

A used leaf or Prius is an easy find. Everyone wants a Tesla or SUV/Pickup.
