I think we have the same baby camp chair!

Don't have a picture with the drifter, but you can see our friend's ridiculous camo Chevy in this one...

haha those cups are solid. But once they start tossing them they will crack and get water/juice all over the place. Or maybe it’s just my kid

Our daughter launched the cup last night. The pivoting lid thing broke off, but the rest of the cup is OK. Good to know it'll break soon though.

We actually started with a camelback funny enough. Then she quickly figured out the straw. Now she's getting the hang of tilting her head back to drink out of a normal sippy cup.

Is anyone running corner bed rail brackets with their camper? Like these...
    20200228_133420.jpg
I haven't decided if I want to move the clamps farther from the front of the bed to accommodate these.

I have the BAMF ones. I think they kind of hold a similar purpose as the bed stiffeners but in the front.

Before the Drifter I had a tree fall on the RTT on my truck. The impact caused my bed to crack in the corner (among other things lol)
    F812D006-EE6E-491B-AB67-B0373944855A.jpg

I used some heavy duty epoxy, some aluminum flat bar as brackets, and a BAMF bed tie down in the corner. Have been through a lot with the Drifter since and it still holding up great

Great to hear it's been holding up. I have the ones at the back and got these to help tie everything together up front. I just wasn't sure about moving the camper clamp farther away from the front rail. Maybe I'll see if there's a way to integrate them together

    Drifter....ARRIVED!

Jealous. Ours died the two nights we were backpacking (out for 5 total and this occurred in the middle). Blech. We have a Dometic CFX 40W and a Odyssey PC1400 dual battery set up. We had nothing else running and given the reported draws of the fridge and our battery capacity, we thought that it would hold. The battery was fully charged as we did a good amount of driving beforehand and the temperature wasn't that hot, though of course hotter inside. We were in the Selkirks in N. Idaho (amazing!) and it was ~75F outside. We were probably gone ~60 hours. Fridge was pretty full. We are headed out again this weekend for another backpacking trip. Thoughts on anything we should do differently? Is solar in our future?

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I would certainly opt for a minimum of a 100w panel and a decent charge controller. If you don’t have the space for the panel on your roof get a folding one.
For a charge controller get a good one, like Victronics or even a RedArc BCDC works very well.

having spent the last 5 1/2 weeks with covid and dealing with the aftermath, i had pneumonia type symptoms and it has left me with the feeling that someone punched me smack in the middle of the chest 'yesterday' and weeks of light headedness - i was very happy to feel up to go camp. totally gutted to see the fires raging, my girl and i were happy to have a night to ourselves. the altitude didn't do much for me unfortunately thou

This is a great video to show you how to calculate what your needs are (battery and solar) based on what your loads will be. This guy is a wealth of good knowledge and all of his videos will teach you something.

I sincerely hope and pray you get better and get over this awful disease. Hang in there... Camping in your VOD has to be good medicine (at the very least for your spirit).

For you guys running a setup with full armor (skids, sliders, front bumper, rear with swingout). What is your truck weighing now? I had my truck weighed the other day without a wedge camper setup and its sitting around 7000 lbs. Crazy to think its that heavy. Custom Deaver would be spec'd for 17-1800 over stock in the rear. I am debating losing some of the BAMF armor which is great but super heavy in favor of something a little less beefy and lighter.

Wanted to see what folks are running in terms of rear leaf packs and if anyone has weighed their truck? Swapping my current shell with sleeping platform prob will not be too much different going with a wedge setup (maybe 100 lbs )

add my drifter and i was at about 6400lbs with no gear. I figure I’m closer to 6600-6700 fully loaded for camping / wheeling.
I’d like to get my weight lower but with the wheeling ive been doing in the past, i can’t really give up my skids or bumpers (maybe a swing out or something down the road).

running custom deaver’s (U402 + rearch and aal done at some point) but might need need ones if i don’t drop some weight.

Makes sense and prob similar boat as me. Swapping from the leer shell and such to a wedge setup likely wont change my weight. If I removed my current wheel setup and BAMF skids and put on a lighter steel skid it would prob put me around 6700. Based on your setup its 14-1500 over stock in the rear. I was really hoping to be closer to the 700-1000 range and add the U403 stg III. What did rearch entail?
