Since we have the numbers for the E500, I'm going to change it up a bit, which should keep some of the clutter out of the thread and make it so that I can respond to you faster (especially on weekends).

If you are interested in an Explorer 500 unit, please send me a PM with your email address and let me know that you are in for the Jackery Group Buy.

If you are interested in another unit, please post in here with which unit you are interested in purchasing and I will add you to the list.

When does this end? We have decided to sell my Tacoma and I’m too lazy to strip the dual battery setup out of it and if we’re being 100% honest I don’t want to go drilling holes in a 2020 trd pro 4 runner to run the wires. I’d be much happier running the 500 or 1000 plugged into the truck and my fridge plugged into the Jackery.

You're welcome. I'm happy to help.

Has anyone who has placed an order received their unit yet? If so, let's get some pictures!

Not a lot of love for the 100w solar panel. Bummer. I was hoping to score a good deal on one.

Well, we got 9 total for the panel so far, so we are almost halfway there. I have not yet posted on Facebook to see about generating some more interest. My company frowns upon Facebook showing up in the logs, but don't seem to know about TacomaWorld. I plan on posting on Facebook over the weekend when I am on a personal computer.

Keep in mind that if you do go ahead and order and use the promo code, Jackery has said that they will refund the $10 if we meet 20 orders.

@PennStateTaco was the first to order, I think. I'm hoping that his arrived before his trip this weekend. Maybe we can get some pics of his 500 in the wild

Now I'm curious what everyone plans to power with their Jackery.

I’m stuck between iceco and dometic right now. I’ll end up ordering a fridge by tomorrow but I just need to commit.

I personally went for the ICECO. For the price and the warranty, I could buy 2 Dometics. I know of a few folks who have had their 12v fridges (ARB) for about 10 years and my research suggested that is about the expected life for one of these units.

No pics in the wild, but it worked very well all things considered. It showed up at the house at 3 PM which was great that I got to take it. I learned quite a few things on this trip about the unit.

First for those wondering if the 12 Volt cigarette port in the truck is faster to charge the thing then the AC plug in the bed of the truck. I can tell you without a doubt the AC plug in the truck bed is much faster.

12 Volt DC plug = Charged at 42W
Truck Bed AC plug = Charged at 78W

I needed to run a cheap fridge/freezer which ran very good. Bought a Alpicool C21. The fridge when running drew about 40 watts. When I set it to ECO mode, once it got to the right temp, it ran every 15 or 20 mins for about 3 or 4 minutes.

Anyways the Jackery showed up at the house an hour before I was leaving and it only had 33% charge. I plugged it in to the house and it got to 40% before I left at 4PM

I had no room in my bed as I was loaded with camping gear and firewood. So I had to have the jackery in my backseat charging off the 12 volt and the fridge running on it.

By the time I got to camp about 2 hours later I was at 52%, setup camp only used it for the fridge the first night plus blew up our air mattress. Woke up in the morning and the jackery was at 36% and it ran the fridge for roughly 12 hours. That is pretty good performance.

2nd day we went exploring and 4 wheeling in the forest trails. I had fridge and Jackery in the truck bed charging all day. roughly about 6 hours. By the time we got back to camp it was at 100%

We ran fridge, plus I had rechargeable tent fan/light charging. Charged up 2 tablets. Ran my laptop off of it to watch 2 movies. After more beers then I can count and about 7 hours of sleep I woke up and the Jackery was at 64%

Went for a small exploring trip for about 2 hours running a different trail and I was back up to 83% again by the time I came back to camp. The fridge was always connected to it and running the entire trip. We watched a few more movies last night and recharged my laptop.

This morning I woke up and it was it was at 48%. Easily handled what I was throwing at it and next trip plan on taking small flat screen tv and a single k-cup coffee maker.

Overall it performed even better than I expected. For those that don't have the solar panels I can tell you the best thing is to keep it in the truck and charging while on the move for anything.I never charged the Jackery while the truck was off. Always when I was going somewhere because i didnt want to run down my truck battery.

No pics in the wild of it but a few pics of where I was at in Bald Eagle State Forest. I will have a separate write up of the entire camping trip over in this thread with lots more pics of the camp sites throughout the northern part of the forest.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...te-parks-and-forests-campsite-reviews.629896/

Thanks again CowboyTaco! This thing will come in handy for the rest of the camping season and all of next year camping/4 wheeling adventures.

That's awesome! I'm glad that it got there in time and even more happy to know that it served you well. Sounds like the pass-through charging worked perfectly for you too.

I'm sure the ambient temp in PA is a lot lower than it is here, but ~16% usage powering a 12v fridge for 12 hours is remarkable. Per Amazon, that fridge is rated to use 45W. Hearing that it pulled 40W is consistent with what I've seen for the 60W rated compressors that pull about 55W. So a larger fridge probably would see more power consumption over that time period, but I wouldn't expect it to be too terribly different.
