Spinning wheels is part of wheeling. Just because I have open diffs can I not do harder trails? I've spun tires in 4Lo.

The point was it's a 4x4 trail. Not a 2wd trail. I never said it couldn't be done in 2wd. I said the 2wd rigs will tear the trail up faster then 4x4 rigs. They are also way more likely to need a tug and it's a holiday weekend.

Would you take your open diffs on Rubicon, Coyote Lake or Fordyce? Most people would not. Why? Because it would be slow as shit and nobody wants to be that guy in the Rubi. So why is the case different with Laurel?

I've been on both fordyce and rubicon with open diffs. Lol. Beat the fuck out of my truck tho.

Yep. And you probably needed more then a few spots, rocks stacks and tugs if you finished either of those trails. I can't imagine finishing Fordyce with open diffs. I'm F/R locked with a crawl box and I needed a winch at a few points. lol

Rubicon from Tahoe to Cadillac Hill and fordyce to winch Hill1 pass the first water crossing. No tugs but beat my shit up

Our luck has finally run out. Woke up with campsite full of smoke. Can’t see the mountains and the sun is dark red :bananadead:. But man we had a great first 2 days with amazing weather at least. Next time we’re thinking October trip so there will be no chance of fires but good chance of rain/snow.

Everyone be safe getting home. Once on the 395, you should be good. Several more fires have erupted in CA over the two days.

    Hope you all are safe!

This is disappointing news, was going to head up tomorrow morning. Looks like a new destination will have to happen now.

Get your asses moving fast. The Mammoth Resivoir Fire crossed the river and is out of control on both sides. 200 people had to be air lifted out late yesterday and reports are that its headed your way.

Enough of the riff raff for now.

Just focus on information that's going to get them home and safe right now. Resume the banter when they're back.

Everyone should fine coming back. My wife & daughter are on their way home from Reno and I just checked the 395 road conditions, all good so far. I hope that our TW members who live in the surrounding areas stay safe.
