The Ridgelines are good vehicles, not visually attractive but functional in many aspects and have a bigger payload than tacos even tho no frame; and I think tow the same.

    Butt ugly tho IMO

    AND....big fucking AND

    NO FRAME RUST

I enjoyed my Ridgeline loved that truck drove into the ground. Bought my Taco six months ago used, I am sure I will love it just as much just need some more time. I had three golden retrievers with the ridgeline so it will never be the same. I found I went through rear brakes as fast as front. I think because of the anti skid in the snow. Went through a lot of snow with that truck.

The ridge line is one of those trucks you buy for your teen daughter . And you bought it used with low miles from a senior citizen .

I did that to an Element that I had. Was manual and awd too

I would never get a ridgeline :anonymous:

We all talk trash about the Ridgeline but in all reality that truck doesn’t have any mechanical/electrical issues and is a well built truck for overland.

If the back doors had opened a bit further for getting kids in and out of car seats, I probably would have bought one. Now that I have the Taco, I’m loving it, but when I started looking at trucks the ridgeline was very much in the mix.

Your spot on with the reliability, not to mention it's better road manors than the BOF Taco. The Ridgeline will work for 99% of the population out there. Most people drive to work and back with the occasional Home Depot run or trip to the beach.

Road trip and KOA sure, but I'm not sure about overlanding with it. The 4wd system is ...well not really 4wd but an AWD system with fancy electronics and it has no articulation. Additionally the approach and departure angles are not great. I suspect if your in the rough stuff, you might have rough time.

Surprisingly the payload and towing are very similar, with the Tacoma edging it out.

Sorry if it's a repeat post, just adding a professional opinion.

Personally I can't bring myself to drive a truckette.

It is also only available with a short bed that is shallower than the Tacoma and, until 2020 did not have a lockout function on the transmission for towing. If it were 3-4K cheaper and got 3-5 MPG better than the Tacoma, they would have a market. As is, I think its a tough sell.

My father in law just looked at new a Ridgeline. The narrow back door opening issue has been resolved. It now opens as (far as) it should. Seems like I remember seeing a pretty easy hack to fix the old issue, too.

The RL was in the mix for me, too. Its functionality checks all the boxes for my needs. Just couldn't deal w/the cosmetics. Honestly didn't want to buy a truck that could realistically be confused with an SUV (Pilot). Basically, IMO, it needs a more unique identity.

As much as I dislike a Ridgeline, that is a good bed with trunk design.

The Ridgeline doesn't make much sense in Canada which is a shame because people love Honda here and it suits our climate and geography so well. Starts at $47k and they want 4.99% on a 60 month term.

The Ranger has the same power, fuel efficiency and payload for $37k. Most people spending $50k buy an F-150. Most people who want a midsize buy a Tacoma.

Except that trunk is where the spare tire is, bad design if you have a load in the bed.
