    Some trucks have a way to set the tailgate like that. I was disappointed when the Taco didn't...you know, just in case. That chain idea is genius!

    Love this chain idea. Wish I thought of it. Six sheets of 3/4 inch plywood. With the chain idea I could’ve gotten more.

    I had a few hands to help. The guys at the warehouse weren't sure the truck could fit all of the cases but it did. It handled fine too though you could definitely tell the weight was back there. I think I had about 500 miles on the truck at the time. Had to break it in somehow lol

    Wacking and hauling some red oak, winter isn’t far off.
    This is 1/2 face cord +/- measured the height of the back of the truck with and without the wood, it measured the same - that’s good news after reading on TW about owners having the rear sag under light loads.

    Truck doesn’t sit quite for long. Bought it 12/28/19 new. Broke 14,000 miles on it this week (9/18) and that includes the 2 1/2 months that it just sat in my driveway due to Covid lockdown.

    The Tacoma does have a way to do that. The cables on the sides - loop them up over the silver brackets on both sides and viola, it's set at an angle like that....

    I'll have to try it. It didn't seem to me like it would stay very well. Especially since I didn't think I could get the cable to go up that high without closing the tailgate. Do you have any photos?
