That's not it. Reverse works fine and gauge shows half a tank.

Is that right? Is that standard or is there some way I can confirm this is applicable to my truck?

Question for the smarter people than I, would the transmission (torque converter) probe show a higher fluid temp if the fluid is low? So would it run hotter if the fluid was low overall?

reading through the warranty guide, it seems like this issue should be fixed at no cost. Also, it makes it sound like the tow to get it to the dealership is covered as well.
    "
    Towing
When your vehicle is inoperable due to
failure of a warranted part, towing service
to the nearest authorized Toyota dealership
    is covered."

Would this be a reimbursement or how should I go about handling the tow?

As for the tow? I would assume any sort of receipt or confirmation of you paying for getting it towed would be warranted for reimbursement. As for the warranty don’t see how that wouldn’t be covered no other way to find out other than tow it to the dealer. Best of luck sorry to hear about your issue.

It’s under warranty. Just have it towed to the dealer and the tow company gives the invoice to the dealer since it’s under warranty. If you call the dealer they should give you a tow company number or call the tow company for you, at least my dealer does.

Went out this morning and moved it from R to D several times, then clunked into Drive, but was completely bogged down and wouldn't go more than 25 mph. Check engine light has come on.
Shifting from R to D and D to R is very clunky.

It's under warranty, do what you gotta do. Then call them to come tow it in.

That's an engine issue. He has a transmission issue.

This will be good thread to monitor the results of.

@okccj be sure to let us know the final outcome. Good luck.

Dealer here told me of one instance like that on a 3.5 auto tacoma when i was offered a 10 year 100k extended warranty they had serviced....said it turned out to be a converter failure at 40k miles.

Call nearest dealer, if their half way decent they will deal with all the logistics to tow it.

If you have a code reader, please read and share the codes. This is not something many of us could help with, but most appreciate sharing the details to learn of the issues.
