2020 remote services

What’s up TW.

Need some quick help if any of you have ran into same problem with Toyota remote services - which sucks IMO. My remote start is hit or miss with app- really sad. Wish for the money we pay for these trucks- they would have similar set up as Honda/ Chevy/ Dodge etc. Really like how they can turn on with fob. My question for you guys- can we actually turn on our trucks with with the fob as well?? I ask because my wife has a 2020 Rav 4 tech package as well and the app sucks! I’ve been reading on Rav sites that horrible connection and most guys are disconnecting the battery for a hard reset. I also came across the site that the Rav 4 2019-2020 (certain models) have remote start via the key fob. Wondering if we have the same ?

Fob starts the truck for me. Press lock button 3 times holding on the last press.

 

I don’t have any issues. Do you have subpar Verizon wireless reception in your area by chance? If the signal isn’t good Toyota can’t connect reliably to their vehicles. This was my guess since you have two Toyota’s with this issue. Mine works flawlessly.

 

Yes it’s Verizon- makes sense now . Reception not best .

Yet what’s weird is my truck starts with app. My wife’s 2020 parked in garage next to mine with crappy signal .

 

It can't be quick presses. It can be pretty finicky from my understanding. Probably 3 presses over the course of 2-3 seconds.

As stated above, pressing the lock butting 3 times, holding on the last works with my key fob. The only issue I have with the app is sometimes it’s takes forever to load... but when it does load properly, it works fine.

 

Perhaps it doesn't have traditional remote start equipped. Idk if the one via the app is through something different or not. I know aftermarket ones with a smartphone option have a separate module for it, but it still attaches to the remote start module.

This is 2020 tech package. I would assume same as everyone?

 

Just my luck- now getting error message about remote start via app. Makes sense might be due to Verizon crappy service at my house

 

I believe as long as you have “connected services” on your vehicle the key fob remote start should work

 

Is it tech or premium that gives 2020 remote start? Mine has neither >< Doesn't boot up

 

I'm not sure about 2020, but I believe my 2017 has the technology package (blind spot, dual climate, sun roof, parking sensors, etc) but mine did not actually come with remote start.

Also, in your screenshot, you have 3 bars so I'm not sure what is going on.

8 months? Are you paying for the remote services or are you still on your free trial?
From my understanding the trial period is only 6 months? I could be wrong.
