If you have spectrum internet, you can get cells with them, we do it and it’s great for us.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Internet calls were fine but the service wasn't working as a mobile phone which is what we needed for.

I'd like to see what it looks like with the front cut for an aftermarket bumper.

Issues with sprint huh? I've been in skirting for quite some time now but haven't been running into this issue. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I recommend a poulan pro snowblower. Father has had theirs for at least 15 years and it's never quit. I've got the same one also no issues. Others in the family also have the same one.

Sprint doesnt get service outside of large cities historically from what I have seen, I know Tmobile/sprint gets no service where I live now.

That said, Verizon has been super bad around here lately and I've been getting frustrated with it. Most these carries are cannabilizing their 3g waves for other projects too which make them worthless to the cell phone users.

Then I saw a thing how google blocked someones texts for 10 days after sending someone a link to a political site. So its like...

Lets break up big tech a little, is the guy who broke Ma Bell still alive

The ATV idea is also something I'm considering-a heck of a lot more cash than a snowblower or a plow guy, but much more versatile. I could be on a Honda Rancher of some flavor with a plow for less than $10K.

I’ve been on the prepaid AT&T route for a few years now. No issues. 75/mo for me and wife. Same att network, I think the vz prepaid is the same. Before this I was on sprint prepaid which was a pain.

+1 on the Poulan my neighbor growing up had one. He had a roughly 8 car driveway 4 wide by 2 deep, roughly. He cleared feet of snow with that thing and he had it for 20+ years probably still does.

I was going to say that - you have a 300 ft driveway, you must also have a decent yard to have to deal with, aye? Check out the atv and tractor plows. They also make snow blower attachments for tractors too. They’re expensive but if you have to spend for a tractor or atv for the rest of the yard anyway, they’re about as much as a good snowblower to have alongside it. You’d still have to shovel some stuff of the tractor can’t get to it though like walkways etc.

Weight is a big thing plowing, for larger driveways I don’t like the atv/utv route, but that’s for you to decide. But 300 feet of deep on an atv isn’t gonna get pushed very well. Most storms are under 8 inches tho and it would most likely do that fine just shooting it off to the side on each pass.

I have a snowblower on my tractor. I love it, but it sure isn’t the fastest route. I have a full cab with heat and music so doesn’t really bother me. That won’t be the cheap route tho that’s for sure, without other uses for the tractor it’s very overkill.

if you don’t mind walking I vote snowblower. If you want a vehicle I think a light Used truck/Jeep would be enough for just a personal drive.

if going atv/utv...I would go atv. It might be a little lighter but much less expensive to fix the wear items you’re going to overload. Get some heavy duty springs and go for it.

you mentioned Honda and I like them but Polaris has some absolute monster atvs these days that will do a better job I think.

Edit:ALSO how are you moving piles? With atv or smaller truck you must push your first snow banks wayyy off the driveway. Otherwise mid winter you’re going to be trucking it out. Even with a super duty that needs to be planned out since the banks freeze and no truck we are considering will break them up.

This is just a rental place on 1.5 acres as I look around for something to buy. When I buy, it will be 10+ acres so I can shoot on it-property tax be dammed, I'll have my own range.

There was a thread on another forum a couple years back where a realtor figured out that the prepaid plans got lower prioritization on towers than the regular monthly plans. That mattered a lot to him in areas with crappy phone service.

Of course my dumb ass switched from ATT to Verizon in anticipation of better coverage in New England and rented a place with like half a bar of 0G service for anyone. ATT was getting old and expensive and Verizon does tend to get better coverage in most places though.

it’s still normal cell service (I think they operate via Verizon networks). When I signed up, you needed to be an internet customer.

I’ve been a Cricket customer for the last 4 or 5 years. 3 lines unlimited for $90.00. Coverage where I go is good. Prior to that was Verizon until it got too expensive. Prior to that was AT&T. Prior to that was Sprint. Prior to that was Nextel. And I started with a bag phone on Verizon.

Cricket is on the AT&T network.

    in other news...

For snow removal in a rental, I’d pay someone if I thought I wasn’t going to be there more than a few years. I picked up an old quad - 88 Polaris 4x4 trail boss. Made a mount for a 48” plow from a crapsman tractor. Pushes snow without issue. I might not get the depth that is seen up north but it’s usually the wet concrete crap. Haven’t started the snowblower in a healthy 3 years.

If I had a long driveway and a short commute to work, there would be a plow (yup, I said it) on the Tacoma. Yes, it’ll plow just fine.

renting I would just pay someone for now. Never know what your purchase will bring.

hmm. I’ve never had any problems but I’m in Providence. Otherwise when I don’t have signal neither do others. Makes sense but works for me at least.

if it’s just my driveway yeah there are some light plows I would definitely do with the taco. Seen a few on wranglers too.

Granted, the only time I lived in RI was about 20 years ago, but the only place in the state I didn't have coverage was out in Pascoag or Foster.

Oh sorry. We don't have that company out here, we do have Comcast though and it's probably about the same thing. My mother has that and she likes it.
Hahaha I had a bag phone too. Now were showing our age!
Some of these guys will probably have to look up to see what a bag phone is.

Ariens! I firmly believe they are the best snowblowers on the market.
