You'll have to pay sales tax and registration still for CA, AZ dealer will likely just give you a temp tag to get you home, you take care of the rest or maybe they'll be able to do it for you, just depends, like when I was in NJ you could buy in PA and they knew how to do it, every dealer is different.

2 weeks ago, dealers offering MSRP or maybe a 500 discount before the rebate. End of last week and this week many of the dealers were discounting more. I was trying to beat the holiday rush and get a 20 before trying to wait out a 21. I had 2 dealers willing to work with me on attempting to beat the next, plant of OR in stock (although very few with LED). I think I might have been able to wait it out and done better but I have a crazy couple of weeks coming up with work and wanted it off my mind..

Got a call from the salesman at the local dealer I was working with before I bought somewhere else. Says they're getting their 1st batch of 21's in about a month.

I’m just going to throw this out there, but if you received a stimulus check of any amount, you more than likely can not afford a brand new Tacoma. That being said, I would wager that a majority of financially sound people do not buy brand new vehicles, at least not until a lot of other things are in order/paid for. I’m curious to see what they go for after the bubble bursts.

Looking at prices online, I get the sense that 2021 TRDs Sports and ORs will be starting at $42k through most of next year.....here in the Southeast! Thats insane considering that you could pick up a Pro for that much around here back in 2019. Who gives a shit about Apple Car Play and a grill change?

I just bought a 2020 TRD OR long bed a month ago for a little under $39k taxes and tags included, and I felt that was still too much considering that last year I would have paid $36k since sales taxes and tags are capped in my state. I wont pay for another one if prices keep rising like this. I'll keep this one for 6 or 7 years but my next truck will be a Ford F150 XLT....no way I'm paying $40k plus for a compact truck.

The reason prices are high are people keep paying them. Three years ago you could get a decently loaded offroad for under 35k otd, but now everyone is bending over and spreading for the dealers. An influx of previous full size owners are getting tired of paying full size domestic prices and are moving to midsize due to cheaper price. Also it depends on the options of the trucks as some trim levels can add 5k to it easily. Even the used ones are priced crazy high, I don't think it will last forever tho.

you know... I bought my truck back in Sept 18th, 2008... it is a 2009 model... the sticker was just under $31k and I got it for $26,500 plus tax and BS... I have been looking thru all the posts... If I want to get a brand new truck again, I am expect to pay around $40k-ish... geezz... my salary didn't go up that much to adjust the vehicle inflations... and I live in NJ!

True, but there's a lot more tech and safety equipment on the newer trucks. I bet they could still mass produce the 2009 model for a 31k sticker price today...

You can still get one for around those prices. Just don’t get all the extra stuff. I got my 2020 4wd OR auto for a little under 35,000. Could’ve gotten it for less if I had taken less on my trade. I got $500 over Kelley blue book private party. I had an offer for just under 33,000 for an OR W just LEDs. If you want all this technology stuff and leather and everything, you have to pay for it. If you don’t want to pay for it, don’t get it. Better yet, get an SR, throw set of wheels and tires on it and you’ve got a really nice Tacoma for a little over 30.

I have contacted 4 dealers here so far. Wellesley Toyota in Wellesley MA is the Costco dealer around here. They told me, full sticker plus dealer doc (profit) fees. How the heck is that any kind of deal at all? This dealer is terrible, avoid them.

the tacoma LED lights should be standard... I mean its nice looking and all... but they are cheaper now and lasts a long time compare to those incandescent. I dont want the leather, but I would like a sunroof and automatic sliding rear glass...

Did you submit the purchase request through Costco? Costco sends a survey after you submit the request asking if they sent you the Costco pricing sheet and a few other questions about things the dealer is required to do. I doubt there would be any resolution but I would fill it out.
