What are you guys using for front-facing cameras? I've been looking at the one from Runnin 4 Taco's, which comes complete with all the wiring, relay, and double throw OEM style switch. Are there any others out there that are of the same quality, in a complete kit like that anyone would recommend?

I'm not too keen on buying several bits and pieces to try and make something work.

Would definitely be interested but just looked it up on Amazon and a customer says the 2020 non JBL 8" head unit doesn't work with that one. Would be great for 2019 and earlier.

There seem to be two choices....the Anytime kit which uses a dash button that you can toggle between the front and rear cameras at will. And the Car Solutions kit which uses the MODE button and joypad on the wheel to manipulate. The Car Solutions kit turns the front camera on for 30 seconds after you put the transmission in 'D' so I went with the Anytime kit (I think thats what R4Ts is selling). Its on its way and I'm not looking forward to figuring out how to get under the dash. I get that pulling the infotainment system out is pretty easy but running the switch looks like a pain in the ass as the one blank location for it is way the hell over by the drivers door on my TRD Off Road. My impression is that the Car Solutions kit is a little simpler to install since it uses the trucks existing controls.

Having just run my microphone connector to the head unit, my advice to others routing wire from the MMU to driver’s side cubby is to use a thin gauge solid core wire as a lead. I had recently removed a fluorescent housing from duty due to a dead ballast so I cut the yellow wire from it to serve as such a guide. Plastic packing or blue painters tape will secure your cargo in transit. It’s not hard at all really but using the lead makes it less frustrating.

I have the Germes kit (sold by car-solutions) and I very much like it.

For the camera wire itself, I prefer the passenger side due to the multiple options in factory grommets and the plethora of space in front of the firewall in the engine bay. I’m not sure how the ABC harness works out but I wouldn’t necessarily go drivers side for the camera even if you put the switch in the driver’s side cubby.

The camera included with anytime harness will not work for position of that hole. Only aftermarket camera i know that faces like that is Beat Sonic cam which i just sold today. I dont even know if that will work.

My suggestion would be Beat Sonic Camera with the Anytime harness/contoller and hope for the best.

You might have to make some sort of bracket for the actual camera

Had to hose it off today just to see that killer reflection. Nothing beats a clean truck. If you look closely you can see a wasp nest in my bedroom window. Dammit.

I'm hoping theres enough meat on the outside of the kit camera that I can whittle it down to fit in the back of the Pro Grill camera nacelle with a little clear silicone and / or foam rubber to wedge or glue it in and secure it. The kit without the camera just wasnt that much cheaper. If it doesnt work I'll try this one below. I've heard you have to cut a wire if used as a front camera otherwise the image is reversed?
