Yep, SL rated which is why I am even more frustrated. These should be GTG.

Where are located? A lot of shops claim to road force but have no idea how to do it properly and your concern is EXACTLY the description of a botched road force job. I have 285/70R17 RG SLs and I was able to force match them all under 12lbs. When I do my first rotation I am going to re check them to see where they are.

Love my RG's. Just as smooth at 75 mph as 30 mph. Steering wheel rock solid dead center.

Yeah, my steering wheel is centered, which is why I think it is a tire issue. I really hope it isn’t the ghost “vibration” issue I am now reading about with the Tacomas. That is just unsat for a vehicle after 2000.

How many miles do you have on your RG's? Any sign of cupping? Mine had outside cupping in less than 2k miles, even after multiple balance and rotation attempts. Yes, alignment and shocks checked out ok. But multiple replacement tires seemed to be out of round but Nitto still won't warranty them.

I ran Wildpeaks could never get them balanced. Just picked up some Goodyear ultra terrains from discount tire from the first drive they felt 100 better super smooth great off road only 40 lbs with a 265/75/16. Great off road really recommend them.

    secret stuff.
I wish you the best man, there is nothing more frustrating then having a newer vehicle and being at the mercy of clowns that don't know what they are doing. I'm fairly convinced many of the issues many of us have regardless of brand is actually installation error and sloppiness.

Look around the forums and see how often people are not only having balancing issues, but also get to deal with chipped, scratched, and scuffed wheels they just dropped 1k+ on in addition to that new set of tires. Road force balancing is a fairly "new" thing in terms of how wheels have historically been balanced. I'm not saying it isn't useful - obviously a very useful and modern tool for wheel balance when used in capable and understanding hands. Capable and understanding hands seems to be the lacking common denominator. Even at the dealer, you think a master tech is changing oil, balancing tires, and doing alignments? Rarely, if ever.

my RG's were great. balanced great pretty quiet, till 15,000 miles then they got loud, still road good, so i ditched them for a set of general grabbers, nothing bad to say about the grapplers... great tire, will get another set next time..

Put them on the truck at 83 miles. Right now, have 544 miles on them. No cupping or any signs of abnormal wear. My concern is getting another set of Nittos that are out of round and I am stuck with them with no warranty. Hence why I am looking at the Toyos.

Yep, that is my plan. Looking at the Toyo AT3s. Just debating on size, OEM 265/70R16 or the 265/75R16.

So weird! I went with the KO2’s because I’ve had multiple buddies have vibration issues with the grapplers. I have zero complaints. I hear they get louder as time goes on but for now they are dead silent. I’ll enjoy it while it lasts. Maybe I’ll try the nittos next time. They are much cheaper and look great

I have both tires from Nitto the Ridge Grappler and the Trail Grappler. They are great tires and I would replace with the same. I do know it takes time for them to break in. Make sure you check the air pressure. I know they filled my Trail Grapplers at 50! I promptly aired them down to 36, 34. Let them break in.

I really like my Nitto RG’s, I run them on my 3/4 ton, and find them very smooth and quiet. I have almost 40k on them, still plenty of tread, still quite. I’m a tire nut, and these are one of the few tires ever that I would replace with the same, might try a different size.

I also had bad vibes with the Nitto RG immediately after install and rebalance did not help. Switched to the Toyo AT3 and they are great so far. Nitto must have some quality issues because most people have no problem but I’ve read several complaints here about similar issues.

Great! I was settled on the RGs to replace my OE tires. Was originally going with Goodyear DuraTrac but Goodyear decided to go political on me so I switched to Nitto RGs. Now it looks like they have balance issues.
