I have the csf fj, with the little rubber stuff to seal the gap. I am sure i could put some thicker fluid in the fan clutch.

It’s the engine and trans running hot, the ac never working worth a piss when it’s actually hot out. I have loved this truck, but I am just fed up with it at this point. If I could keep it and get a new truck I would.

I wonder if that seal isn’t cutting it or has shrunk.

this is the best thing I’ve read all day. I’m staying tuned in for the result.

Want to see how the truck runs once I install the @mightytacoman cam gears and SPECU headers before I look to do any other mod. That seems like enough for now. A tune will come eventually though for sure.

My wife is from Alaska. So is my Taco come to think of it. Bought it while stationed up there in 2013. I loved it up there when I wasn’t forced to be out in the elements.

Ah man you act like you’ve never cuss’d your truck and threatened to sell it!

let the man vent and complain a bit to people who know the same annoying problems that come with the truck. Every vehicle has its common problems. We all know ours typically revolves around anything heat/ac related. Resistor, switch panel, Fan shroud... It’s like Toyota built this thing to survive the apocalypse but Ran out of money when it came to the heat/ac system lol

Sorry if my previous post seemed harsh. My voice to text added some words in there that I never said. As far as what you said, yeah dude, I totally agree. These systems suck for some reason. I don't get it. You spend some 30,000 on a truck brand new and the AC can't even work worth a damn. It's actually infuriating. I have contemplated an E fan so many times but I really don't want to deal with the wiring necessary to set it up. There is a guy in the turd gen section making a bulletproof e fan SPAL PWM controller which should solve all of our issues. I guess it just depends how much work you are willing to put into it, but none of this should be necessary, especially to get some cold AC on a hot day (imagine that).

I actually have never threatened to sell it. I've been overall really happy with it. Do I think some areas of it are built like junk? Yeah, but then again I run my truck harder than the 85% of other consumers on the road so I don't care about soft feeling bushings, granny shifting trannies, TSS and the myriad of other luxuries that Toyota wants to put on their crap these days. Just give me a good solid engine, an interior that won't shatter my teeth out, and a tranny that shifts crisp when getting on it. I do call it junk, but it is my junk and I would rather own this thing than all the other junk out there. It fits and meets my needs well for what it is while still being capable of putting some smack down on some V8s.

Besides, I don't want to lose Anthony as a boost bro. This forum is valuable and it does pain me to see people go when they have been solid contributors and all around nice guys who I would gladly have a drink with in person if I ever met them so heck yeah I'm trying to talk him out of selling his junk. :D

My temp is great never goes above 172 with the 160 t stat. But the under hood temps are crazy. If I’m idling hood closed its gets way to hot under there. I did open up my hood scoop and heat pours outta there. But need some
Hood louvers for sure. I have a aem boost gauge. And the sensor for it is attached to my firewall. And as I idle it gets so hot it gives false readings. Will read sometimes 2psi at idle. And one I start driving for it to get some air flow it goes back to normal. Can’t even touch the sensor it gets so hot.

I have 210,000 miles on my supercharger and hammer it hard every single day. I changed the belt and oil out around 120,000 probably but figure it's probably time to do it again. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks guys!

bumping this. Since we’re on the more airflow discussion. Also I need to find ways to shed some weight. Truck will never be light but still hard to think it’s as heavy as it is. I could shed 50lbs doing this but also was thinking it would allow more air since the direct has winch, light, etc.

Also looking at less beefier skids. That’s should shed 100lb easy.

Order this PDR kit back in like April/May time frame. Finally got here so I can get some of these dings out from the hail storm that hit us here in TX a few months ago.
