If that’s the only reason you wanna get it fixed, you don’t need a current inspection to renew your registration. That’s why I was able to roll around for over a year with va plates and no inspection at all.

I wasn’t aware you needed a permit in Corolla. Definitely need one down on the Hatteras National Seashore though.

 

Just to park on the beach, you can drive on it all you want. I think between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

 

Yeah, Corolla up to Carova needs a parking permit to actually park on the beach from the friday before Memorial day thru the end of Labor day. If just driving the beach for something to do, and not stopping... supposedly you do not need a permit from what I understand

How many times did you use your 88p before it died? I have an 85p that I’ve used in three emergency flat situations over the years. Wondering now when it will let me down.

I don’t wheel intentionally unless I’m hunting and have to by mistake. I tow a boat mostly... had two trailer flats and one truck tire flat over the years.

 

Successfully used it 3 times, died on the 4th. Was hoping a new 20A fuse would do the trick. It did not.

VA4WDA & NCBBA were watching this in a big way when it was all going down.

Short of the long.. Permanent residences (Some) down there were getting pissed as to all the traffic and beach erosion over the years during prime season. So it was raised and submitted as a pay to play thing (my words with out getting into politics) to knock down traffic and vehicles driving up there. Supposedly the monies go back into beach repair and the such. I do understand it and get what they are going for. Does it bother me, nah. I just really hope that is what is happening with the coin.

On a flip note. I did hear a rumor when all this went down, that, The innocent bystander was no longer able to help a stuck person out. The stuck was supposed to call for a licensed tow. That said.. I have yet to find real proof of this. So, who knows.

Why did you take them off?

 

$50 for a ten day permit seems reasonable to me tbh. I’d be fine paying it if I was staying there for a week. It did get pretty busy the two times I drove on it, it was a mad house at some points and honestly the traffic flow was confusing when comparing the website to what was actually going down.

requiring a licensed tow would also make sense. I saw the lifted tow truck driving around a lot haha
