Terrible! Sorry to hear that. I traded in my 2005 with only 60K miles and the dealer offered $9K or something like that. Made it a no brainer. I would have never traded that truck in though except for the fact that it was an access cab ... and getting tight for me, the wife, the monster of a kid, one dog and another on the way. If you are interested in trading in it might be worth checking in with a dealer since Carvana seems focused on recently used and not older models from what I can tell.

I would say be careful buying a used Taco right now at these inflated prices. It's a bubble that will bust.

As supply catches up to demand many will find themselves severely upside down.

By all means sell tho =)

    Why?

As far as Tacoma prices being up, it's simple supply & demand, nothing surprising as many Toyota lots have very few Tacomas (if any).
Same thing happening with some other makes and models.

Because many people furloughed, wore a mask while working or got sick. You didn't get 100% putting it together but you'll pay 100%.

    not a single mod
There has been 3 trillion added to the debt this year, and 2 trillion of that is tied to stimulus and covid stuff.
Our tacos went up in value, the dollar went down.

Both ends of the equation are true... dollar has depreciated and demand is distorted to the upside on short of supply...

20% of Toyota dealers do not have a single new Tacoma on their lots at the moment.

I bought new instead of used in 2016 for this reason. I was looking to buy used, but I didn't want to get screwed over.

Not so fast. Carvana's prices just dropped a ton, at least in my area. I am getting almost $4k less than a week ago.

As some have said it is "supply and demand". The Tacoma is a the number one mid size truck in sales. Toyota has established a base of loyal owners for the Tacoma. Due to the pandemic supply is currently low. Tacoma has held it value well in the past. Yet, the vehicle depreciated.

I find it interesting that someone would pay the prices listed for a used Tacoma. I for one would not pay the prices asked. Never let emotion get into the equation of buying a vehicle.

No way I would pay $36k for a used Ranger. I wouldn't even pay that for a new one!

Who supplies your state. I’m not sure about a shortage, but prices here in Cali have gone up too and the quality has gone down. I work for Weyerhauser and we’re shipping low grade aka 2BTR looking stuff to stores.
    I saw a 2x12-16 here for $33ish crazy.
