I bought them a few weeks ago 285/75/16 and procomp 7089's I have been unsucessfull in balancing them properly and have spent over $200 trying to do so. Every shop blames it on the offset of the rim but I know people are running the same setup as me with no issues, they have been road forced and come out fine. Goodyear canada has not been very helpfull at all and are basically calling me a liar because i was saying that all 4 tires where talkin 14+oz of weight. I have taken these offroad and absolutely love them but I just have a bad taste in my mouth from the whole situation so im going back to BFG's. Luckily I work at a dealer and get great pricing on them so someone will get a great deal on them at $900 CAD. its really to bad because I love the look of these tires and how they perform

Take them to someone who knows what they are doing and has the patience to get the road force balance correct. It cost me $160 to get a good road force balance and they worked on it for over 2 hours. I originally had a ton of weight on the wheels from the offroad shop that mounted them. The road force got it down to less than a couple ounces per tire.

An old tire shop trick is if you need a ton of weight on one side, tear the tire down, rotate it 180 degrees, then remount it. Sometimes Murphy will align the heavy side of the wheel with the heavy side of the tire to create all kinds of balance issues. By rotating the tire on the wheel 180 degrees, you are moving the heavy part of the tire opposite the heavy part of the wheel, thus offsetting the two. Then it shouldn't take much weight to get the asembly balances.

I have 265/75/16 DTs on stock TRD wheels. They ride like a dream. I did have to tell the tire shop guys exactly what I just said above. Like the other posted said, I they had around 15oz of weight, after rotating the tire on the wheel, it's down to less than 1oz. He said he had never heard of this. I think many shops simply don't train their employees properly.

Just got my Goodyear/Tread Lightly rebate check in the mail. $10.00? WTF? Isn't this about $90 short. And yes, they were purchased from distcounttiredirect. Anyone else had this issue?

All the trades have gone to hell.

    Sadly. :(

The "tricks of the trade" are not being passed down...the next generation don't GAF. And most have no desire to acquire "tradesmen" knowledge.

When I was a young carpenter...I was a glutton for knowledge. Anything to make my job easier and more enjoyable, and more productive = more income.

My appetite for knowledge in my chosen trade paid off. Even my dad knows I'm a better builder than he. The old man taught me well. :D

    comming soon!
+1 I had the same experience w/Discount Tire in Hilliard. Called Goodyear Service and they were really helpful in getting the problem resolved. Ended up replacing 3 of the four and after that the highest one roadforced @ 12lbs. prior to that I had one @ 31lbs another @ 26lbs and so on.. I'm really convinced that two of the originals were just defective.
The shop I went to was a Goodyear service center, I watched the tech balanced them without the Hawkes adapter and after breaking down the bead on two to move them around on the rim all 4 are now perfect.

We just had our first snowfall this week and they are by far the best tire I've used in the snow!! I don't even need to use 4 wheel drive! and my stopping distance is much better than the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armours I had on last!
