Someone tell me why they regret not buying skid plates earlier to convince me it’s reasonable when I am still waiting on my FN 509 9mm.

Buy the skids, send the 9mm back and get a 5.7 instead. Win/win

If i was to start over with my truck I’d armor first, then suspension

That's what I've been wondering/thinking. I'm just starting to mod the 03 just scored from friend. My approach is to add some weight, front bumper, skids, sliders, then see about suspension based on weight and drop in height. Is this what you're talking?

Weights a huge part of it, that and 90% of the permanent damage that’s been done to my truck was before i had it sufficiently protected.

Yeah to be fair I armored up all the way around just haven’t done underneath yet. Suspension is done for now until I get tired of Icons. This predicament seems to occur every holiday with consumerism sales juxtaposed lol.

Now I guess I am stuck with deciding between RCI and CBI I think those are what I have narrowed it down too. Not sure CBI is worth the extra 200$~ dollars

damn, i hear you. I just read for very added 100lbs, a 2% reduction in mpg, which doesn't seem bad at all to me, not enough to go w/aluminum. But I do know it all adds up.

The difference in weight between full steel and full aluminum is 50lbs. Might as well go with the cheaper stuff that protects better.

I hear you. I guess the 2% is maybe a low estimate, some are saying upwards of 10% IDK. I'm going with steel for obvious reasons

you’ll get to a point where you stop caring about mileage and accept that you ruined (in a good way) a perfectly fine vehicle. It’s inescapable once the modifications begin

You get to that point then start hitting areas where it's 150-175 miles between gas stations (or small local ones you have no clue if they are open or not) and you start caring again. Sure jerry cans are an option but also an annoyance.

So then you start going down the hptuner tune, headers, cam gears, intake spacer, ect to get those mpg back....along well the power too :)

Good morning guys. I know it's a long shot but my buddy had his bike stolen off the roof of his truck while he was sleeping. He spends a lot of time remote in the woods and has thousands of hrs logged on this bike.

If its seen around or pops up for sale it'd be great if you could shoot me a message or contact him directly. It'd be much appreciated.

It's a NS bike eccentric steel frame.

    Was in the Seattle region

I totally know what you mean. Big open wide expanses here in the West. I'm in NM and going for a drive often means 1-200 mile trip. I used to commute 100 mile round trip daily, not any more. This truck is for mining/hounding minerals and prospecting, so I'll be driving. I appreciate the tips on the mechanics of improving mpg, notes taken.

You have the URD LT headers, right? How do you feel about them now?

The engine is the only thing i haven’t touched, instead of doing performance mods i overgeared It to give the illusion of performance...:anonymous:
