told my wife about it and she said let’s try it. She like wine and whiskey. We got both the red and white.
I also got a couple minis to sample.

Spent some time last weekend visiting ABC stores while visiting relatives. Found a few I can’t usually locate. Couple of gifts and a few items for me.9E1F34D3-F963-4C87-A03C-2755FAEF0208.jpg

Okay, the hype is justified based on this neck pour. You can tell it's still just a little young, but the youth is buried behind complexity.

At first on the nose there's hardly any sweetness, mostly earthy tobacco (think fresh out of the humidor, not fully dried) and leather with a touch of vanilla and burnt caramel. On the very back end I get a minty freshness that blossoms into sweeter vanilla and powdered sugar the longer I let it sit. There's a bready grain presence that holds it all together from start to finish while ending with a rich charred oak essence that lingers long after setting the glass down.

First sip is quite a ride. The nose is confirmed with a cinnamon spice on the finish that pushes the oak forward implying more age was put on this barrel. There's rich dark chocolate on the finish that begs you to take another sip. I love oaky, funky bourbons. This one hits the nail on the head for me in nearly every way. Dammit I'm bummed that I could only score one bottle... they ran out right as my wife got up to the counter, she was 24th in line.
