2020 NorCal Camping, Wheeling, & Shenanigans

I didn’t know it was there, I just found some blm to camp on last night. Then woke up to that! Awesome!

 

At Wrights lake once more, this was yesterday.
Almost had the lake to our selves, it was terrible .
Looks like everyone is coming up today.
Went through the campgrounds and every spot was reserved for the weekend.
Saw a young bald eagle flying overhead for about 10 min.

 

Nice truck. Looks familiar.

Snake River is pretty awesome. Hell, even go park at the Sportsman's Warehouse in Twin Falls, then go to the edge of the parking lot and scope out the waterfalls!

Due to these conditions, the USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region is announcing the following temporary closures and fire restrictions to provide for public safety and reduce the potential for human caused fire starts. They will go into effect at 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time on Monday, September 7, 2020, and will be re-evaluated daily as conditions change.
Closure of the following National Forests: Stanislaus National Forest, Sierra National Forest, Sequoia National Forest, Inyo National Forest, Los Padres National Forest, Angeles National Forest, San Bernardino National Forest, and Cleveland National Forest.
Prohibition of the use of any ignition source on all National Forest System lands (campfires, gas stoves, etc.) throughout California.

Sad, but you can't argue with the decision. It's freakin' nasty out there. I have a friend in SoCal that is about to evacuate from the Valley Fire. His home is a mile away, and under an evacuation warning.

SPI closed all their property to camping and hunting last week.

 

If they’re smart, they won’t. Only because there could be people camping.

Jealous! This weekend was stupid, at least in Fort Collins, CO. Feel for all of you dealing with the fires! Ours exploded this weekend...luckily not a heavy populated area. Raining ash all weekend in town.

I’m in north Yellowstone now, and it’s snowing. Bit of a change lol decided last night to get a hotel for the night so we don’t have to camp in it.

How's everything else going? We can see a dusting, but down here we only had rain (for now).

 

Good so far, little hazy from the fire near old faithful. But having a good time and seeing lots of wildlife. Saw three grizzlies this morning, beasts. Staying in gardener MT tonight.
